Lower back issues? Look at your surrounding regions and work on the possible root causes.

Here I’m performing joint mobilisation aka joint stretching to induce mobility in the hips, to steal the load away from the lumbar region. This will then be coupled with corrective strengthening for the gluteal muscles, as well as the lateral core muscles.

Working on strength effectively minimises the muscular imbalances that we have caused over the years, either though movement of any kind, or the lack of postural awareness. Corrective exercises strengthen the muscles to hold up the skeletal structure, as well as to bridge the gap between the inhibited musculature and the overly facilitated muscles.

So how does stretch therapy work?

I combine elements of Active Isolated stretching and Arthofascial stretching grade IV, which primarily focuses on the ‘pin and stretch’ method. Your muscles are passively pushed and pinned at its comfortable joint ROM, and then carefully stretched around that joint a little further.

So what im effectively doing is mobilising your joints through the means of stretching your muscles. And this joint play is done within ur tissue tension barrier so u won’t be tested past your limits.
