Todayโs Autism Fitness Certification reminded us at FIT Asia why this work matters so much.
Among the participants were a school teacher, a special school teacher, a clinical psychologist and a mother caring for a child with special needs. Joining us online were also two adaptive physical trainers from Taiwan.
They came from different backgrounds, but they shared one common purpose, to better support the special needs population and help them lead a better quality of life.
Throughout the session, we saw their passion, curiosity, and deep desire to help this community move better, build confidence, gain independence and experience a better quality of life.
You could feel their sincerity. They were not here only to collect another certificate. They were here to learn, understand and serve better.
By the end of the course, all of them gave the program two thumbs up.
One moment stayed with us deeply. The mother, who joined for personal enrichment, began thinking about how she might contribute to the wider community, beyond caring for her own child.
That is the power of meaningful education. When learning opens the heart to serve, education has done its job.
Kudos to Eric Chessen, founder of , for creating such a structured and practical program. It gives educators, professionals, caregivers and advocates a clear way to support individuals with autism and special needs through fitness. We also appreciate him for conducting the session despite the 12-hour time difference.
Today was more than a certification.
It reminded us that when the right people come together for the right reason, a community becomes stronger.
