Earlier this month, our Psychology Undergraduate, Mikal, led an insightful workshop together with our founder, Carl, on youth sports psychology that sparked incredible conversations on the floor. Parent Andrew and Coach Megan both highlighted the biggest takeaway: the absolute necessity of digging deeper into our athletes’ feedback and prioritising their psychological wellness.

Together, we explored the realities of early specialisation, the critical parent roles on the sidelines and the crucial difference between physical fatigue and true emotional burnout.

The energy in the room was absolutely brilliant. From navigating the intense pressure of competitive sports to understanding the vital, everyday role of parents on the sidelines, it was an evening defined by constructive dialogue. Swimming makes you efficient in the water… but there is a physical cost on land. 🏊‍♂️

At a recent workshop with Team Singapore’s national swim coaches, our physiotherapist Dexter () highlighted a crucial truth: swimmer physical limitations are never random. They are patterns.

Rounded shoulders. Tight hips. Stiff ankles.

When your body lacks balance on land, it compensates in the water. And compensation always leads to inefficiency and injury.

The Coach’s Eye vs. The Physio’s Lens:
👀 The Coach sees: A broken streamline or a weak catch.
🔬 The Physio sees: Restricted thoracic mobility and underactive glutes.

We had an unexpected high-performance athlete drop by the hub today—a Peregrine falcon! 🦅

Naturally, it knew exactly where to go to prepare for its next flight. We quickly got to work mapping out a bespoke programme focusing on explosive wing strength, optimal flight recovery, and apex-level nutrition. A quick consultation with our multidisciplinary team .megs proved to be a highly effective session.

It’s safe to say ATHLETIC INC is now officially endorsed by the ultimate aerial athletes. ⚡️

Most swimmers warm up randomly. But a good warm-up should tell a story. 📖⚡️

At the recent SNAG, we saw too many athletes warming up without intent. A few arm swings won’t cut it on race day. Dexter, breaks down the exact 7-step sequence you need to prime your body and mind for the blocks.

🔥 The ATHLETIC INC Sequence:

1️⃣ Temperature: Wake the system up (skipping, quick feet).
2️⃣ Central: Move the spine and trunk.
3️⃣ Proximal: Open up the shoulders and hips.
4️⃣ Distal: Take every limb through its full ROM.
