We are happy to announce the Connecting Series Projects that will be presented at the AAPPAC 2026 Hong Kong Conference, hosted by WestK, on 8 October. The series is an opportunity for AAPPAC members and artists within Asia Pacific to share ideas on potential partnerships through the development and presentation of new work and provides a platform for commissioning and touring within the region. Since 2018, nearly 60 unique projects from Asia Pacific have been presented at the series.

Since 1996, AAPPAC has brought the diverse artistic communities in Asia Pacific together - enabling collaboration, learning, and exchange between arts venues and organisations within this region. For 30 years, the connections enabled through AAPPAC has built long lasting friendships, and provided solidarity as well as inspiration in both challenging, and better times.

To mark our 30th Anniversary milestone, we have created a video to capture the memories and voices of those who have journeyed with AAPPAC over the years.

Your participation, generosity, and openness in sharing have helped us shape a more vibrant and resilient performing arts community within the region.

What an inspiring week it was in Daejeon, where more than 120 arts leaders and practitioners from across the Asia-Pacific gathered to exchange ideas, foster connections, and reimagine the future of the performing arts.

From Maestra Han-Na Chang’s insightful keynote on global artistry and engaging our next generation, to thought-provoking discussions on the rise and success of K-Culture, the convergence of art and science, evolving audience engagement and marketing, and the future of international collaborations and productions - every session offered fresh perspectives and meaningful dialogue.

Beyond the discussions, we were also inspired by the beautiful arts and cultural venues in Daejeon and Seoul and were treated to breathtaking performances by KAIST, Madanggeuk Troupe Wukumchi, and the National Chorus of Korea, all of which beautifully showcased the diversity, dynamism, and heart of Korean culture.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Daejeon Arts Center for the thoughtful programme, warm hospitality and for allowing us to experience the many facets of Korean creativity and tradition. Thank you also to Seoul Arts Center, and LG Arts Center SEOUL for hosting us at your beautiful venues.

To all AAPPAC members - we’re already looking forward to seeing you all again next year in Hong Kong!

It was a pleasure hosting our fellow AAPPAC member, Daegu Concert House, for a venue tour of Esplanade last week. We look forward to reconnecting with them this October at the AAPPAC Conference in Daejeon!
