About last night...

Finally had some breathing room during the week to sneak out for a quick ride and some hills. Trying to get back some of the muscle that's been wasting away sitting at my desk most days...

Finally back on the road!

After a few weeks of what cab only be described as "classic life" - featuring a bout of hand, foot and mouth for the little miss, figuring out that my tires had run out of sealant, and general mental exhaustion - I managed to get out for a ride.

As luck would have it, it started raining as I left home so I abandoned my original plan of heading for lamp post 1 and instead tackled some hills closer to home. More than enough of a workout 😤

Hopefully won't have to wait another 4 weeks for my next ride 😅😂

First ride in my new .collective gear!

Super thankful the weather held out for a dry ride even though it's been raining cats and dogs all week - the cooler weather remained though which was great ☺️

First ride since my second vaccination in the books - hope things can get a bit back to normal now.

Happy 56th birthday, Singapore!

Today was National Day here in Singapore so made use of the public holiday to ride down to Lamppost 1 and back. Beautiful weather for it 😍

Will be my last ride for at least a week as I'm getting my second vaccination shot tomorrow. Going to be tough to sit still as I was getting into a good weekly rhythm again.

The hills are alive 🎶🎵... With the sounds of my excessively loud breathing 😅

Took to the streets of NUS for a few hilly loops last night. A good workout, but man am I unfit! On the plus side, finally registered a FTP over 200W for the first time - still a work in progress but good to see the number moving in the right direction.

Finding it hard to be motivated for morning exercise so night workouts seem to be the way to go right now.

Wet, wet, wet 🌧️

Was determined to get out for a ride this morning after making all the excuses not to go yesterday. Ended up getting caught in a storm that seemed to just open up the sky above me suddenly.

Normally I don't mind a ride in the rain but visibility was really poor, so I stopped a few times as I vainly tried to make my way home.

So much for a zone 2 ride 😅 better luck next time, I guess!

Quick, but tough workout for a Saturday morning!

Trying to keep things regular so headed out for what I thought was going to be an easy-ish ride, but ended up with a VO2max effort. Obviously my recovery and fitness are not what they used to be anymore 😅

Rest and recovery for the next few days, if I listen to my Garmin's advice (no promises though... 😏)

Selamat Hari Raya Haji!

Hope all who are celebrating have a blessed Eid with their family and friends (or as much as your local regulations allow).

Since it was a public holiday here in Singapore, decided to do something different and head out for a ride just after midday. Naturally, it was 🔥🔥🔥!!

Strava tells me it felt like 36 degrees, but honestly it felt like more - here's to not doing that again any time soon 😅 all the same, glad to have ridden twice in one week, something I haven't done in months...

Exercised strenuously!

Thanks to my buddy for convincing me to go out for a ride this morning. Definitely feeling unfit, but glad to get out there.

Almost two weeks since my first Covid-19 vaccination, so also glad to report no ill effects. Time to get back in the saddle, literally and figuratively!

Hit up Lamp Post 1 this morning!

The day started off pretty dreary and wet, but cleared up enough not to completely ruin my enthusiasm.

Was rewarded with a rare Lamp Post photo op with no one around - besides one uncle who insisted on "chope-ing" a photo spot while waiting for his friends... 😒 Luckily I could still cut him out of my photo 😂

Endurance is some ways off from where I was before, but taking it one ride at a time.

Finally fixed up my road bike and took it for a spin!

Felt good to get out for a ride - forgot how much I love the feeling of speed. Thanks to my wife who kept pushing me.
