We fished on top of a magnitude 5.3 earthquake epicentre, rode 2m swells for six hours straight, and still came home with dream catches. 🌊🎣

The Makassar trip with Ardisya 2.0 was eventful in every sense. Constant handout-seekers hassling the group, an earthquake that killed the bite, and airport security trying to confiscate our catch with no paperwork to back it up. The haul came in slightly under what we set for ourselves on this Dogtooth run.

But the sea gave us a gift up north. We pushed six hours to our “lojiak” spot and ran straight into a huge school of Giant Trevally. They were swiping at our poppers left and right, and the topwater explosions were unreal. That was the highlight of the whole trip.

Huge thanks to our community for coming together and landing the catches you all came for. This is what overseas fishing with the right crew looks like.

We’re already planning the next one. Another group, this October, same waters, and hopefully no earthquake this time 😵‍💫

Amazing trip with the community at a secret island. The vibe was perfect even though our 6 hour lolong session was slow, probably because the fish were spawning and focused on repopulating the area.

One of the most lojiak seasons over at Bedok jetty with the MMSB community! There weren’t any biggies landed (4lb and above) but estimated a total of 30-40 sagai and a hundred queenie (a bad estimate but you get the point), and the mvp .boaz catching and landing the most sagai! What a literally “Good Friday” holiday it was over at Bedok jetty! Madness double and then triple hook ups happening everywhere! Of course most of the CRs were released except for badly hurt fishes that was not hooked well or has excessive bleeding and our Dabao king Louis had to bring them home for crab bait!
