Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA) is a National Sports Association affiliated to the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) and Singapore Sports Council (SSC). Sports Excellence

Under the Sports Excellence 2000 scheme, table tennis was selected as one of the 7 core sports in Singapore. With full support from SSC, STTA made tremendous progress. We provide the athlet

es with the best possible facilities, amenities and environment for developing the sports and to reach their maximum sporting potential. Highly qualified coaches are employed from China to raise the standard of the national squad. Professional sparring partners are also recruited to spar with the national paddlers. These efforts coupled with the systematic training programmes, enables our national paddlers to deliver exceptional results in the recent years. At the recent London Olympic Games, Feng Tianwei has done Singapore proud by winning the Bronze Medal in the Table Tennis Women's Singles. She has won Singapore's first individual Olympic Medal in 52 years. Feng Tianwei, Li Jiawei and Wang Yuegu have also clinched a second Bronze Medal for Singapore in the Women's Team Event. Singapore also won the first Olympic SILVER MEDAL in the Women's Team Event at the Beijing Olympic Games. Our women’s team was crowned the World Champions in the 2010 LIEBHERR World Table Tennis Championships. The national squad also won medals at major games like SEA Games, Asian Games and the Commonwealth Games. Youth Development

STTA-PCF Table Tennis Programme

The STTA is committed to its mission: To develop world class table tennis players by identifying, nurturing and motivating aspiring table-tennis talents to become the best that they could be. The emphasis on youth development at the STTA has never been greater and a key goal for STTA is to identify and groom talented athletes from a very young age. In 2009, the STTA started the early introduction of table tennis to PAP Community Foundation (PCF) kindergartens. Currently, the STTA-PCF table tennis programme reaches out to over 1,000 promising children yearly. Zone Training Centres

Talented and promising players from the STTA-PCF table tennis programme are invited to join the association’s zone training centres for intensive training. The zone training centres are instrumental in strengthening the process of discovering and nurturing young and potential players in a more structured and sustainable manner. Students with high playing skills would then be selectively sent to the Junior and Youth Team. Sports Participation

“Learn to Play” and “Continue to Play” courses are conducted at the Training Hall at Toa Payoh, Hougang, Pasir Ris and Clementi. Local and overseas training camps are regularly organized for youths during the school holidays. In addition, increasingly more local table tennis tournaments are organised to encourage regular and active participation. PAssion TT Clubs

The People’s Association and STTA have jointly set up the National Network of PAssion Table Tennis Clubs, a group of table tennis sports interest groups, to widen outreach and deepen engagement with residents through table tennis at the Community Clubs, Residents’ Committees Centres and Neighbourhood Committees. The PAssion TT clubs are to engage and to promote community and family bonding amongst residents. It will also provide opportunities for residents, regardless of gender, race and age, to learn to play table tennis and improve their skills. The PAssion table tennis clubs are led by volunteer peer leaders and practices are conducted at Community Clubs (CCs) or areas outside the Residents Committee (RC) Centres. We welcome as many residents to come forward and join the club. Residents may join to learn and play leisurely or competitively, and even volunteer to be table tennis volunteer peer leaders. On the international front, STTA is a member of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), Commonwealth Table Tennis Federation (COMTAB), Asian Table Tennis Union (ATTU) and the South East Asia Table Tennis Association (SEATTA). Name of Organisation

Our junior paddlers have been making waves around the world.

At the WTT Youth Contender Varazdin 2026, Gu Junchen clinched the title while Darwin Guo secured joint-bronze in the U11 Boys' Singles.

Krystal Huang also clinched gold in the U11 Girls' Singles at the WTT Youth Contender Otocec 2026, with teammates Ding Xiaoyu and Lin Jiajun sharing the bronze.

Junchen's older sister, Gu Xintian, also did Singapore proud when she finished 3rd in the Euro Mini Champs in Strasbourg.

Over in Japan, the mixed team of Zane Ong, Isaiah Loh, Damien Li, Chevelle See, Arissa Cheng and Ng Jing Xuan claimed a credible 4th place finish at the Tokyo Youth Sports Invitational, narrowly missing out on a podium finish to France.

Finally, the team of Loy Xing Yao, Nicholas Tan, Yang Ze Yi, Janelle Chiang and Chong Zi Sian reached the Top 16 in the Deng Yaping Invitational Mixed Team Tournament.

Off to 🇯🇵 !

Our Asian Games team departed for Japan this morning for centralised training in Shimada, Shizuoka until 17 September before making the short trip to Nagoya.

This final training camp will see the team train alongside sparring partners from Japan, China and Chinese Taipei with different playing styles as they look to fine tune their technique before the games proper.

Singapore Table Tennis Team Named for Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games

Earlier today, the Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA) announced the national team that will represent Singapore at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, with five paddlers set to make their Asian Games debuts in Japan.

The team combines the experience of established national players with the emerging talents of a new generation, reflecting Singapore’s continued efforts to develop depth and strengthen its pipeline of international-calibre paddlers.

The Singapore contingent comprises:

Men’s Team

Women’s Team

Josh, Ellsworth, Ming Ying, Zhao Yun and Chloe will be making their Asian Games debuts, marking an important milestone in their international careers and underscoring the growing depth within Singapore’s national programme.

The Men's team will be led by Gao Ning, while Jing Junhong leads the Women's team.

Speaking at the media conference, Ms Poh Li San, STTA President, said,

“We are fielding a young team averaging 22 years old, to lead the charge against more senior and experienced Asian table tennis Powerhouses. Five out of ten are debutants at Asian Games. In fact, most of our players are also full-time students, juggling between their heavy academic workload with training and competition. They are also our best players, who have been sharpened and toughened via the highly competitive WTT world circuit.

Despite their short career span and juggling schoolwork, the team has kept a strong run leading up to Asian Games, from Asian Team Championship in India, to SEA Games in Thailand and most recently in Singapore Smash. They have been training rigorously and will be undergoing centralised training in nearby Shimada first, in order acclimatise to the Japanese environment.

For our five debutants, this will be a valuable opportunity to compete against the best players in Asia and gain experience that will be important for their continued development.

At the same time, our more experienced players will play an important role in providing leadership and helping the team navigate the challenges of a major Games environment.

We are confident that the team will approach Aichi-Nagoya with a strong spirit, sharp focus and give their very best for Singapore.”
