Morning All,
It may have come to your knowledge through an ongoing campaign that there has been an increase in dangerous play and bad bids displayed by members of the Ultimate community. These actions have come at a high price, resulting in serious injuries and months of recovery for the athletes involved.
DK solemnly affirms its support for the Spirit of the Game and the principle of non-contact in Ultimate. Under no circumstances should “making a play on the disc” be a valid excuse for initiating contact with other players. All players are responsible and accountable for ensuring that they abide by the Spirit of the Game.
At DK, any form of dangerous behaviour is strictly prohibited. In an effort to , we will continue to ensure that our leadership deals sternly with injury-causing plays/bids and will work towards penalising such repugnant behaviour from any of our members. We will educate and remind our players of the original virtues that comes about from playing Ultimate - a self-refereeing and mixed gender sport.
As fellow athletes who live and love this sport, we back all efforts to . We hope that by increasing awareness on this matter, we will bring about positive change in the Ultimate community.
