NTU Tennis Club was founded in 2004 by a group of tennis enthusiasts who share the same passion for Tennis. It serves as a platform for all students and staff from NTU and NIE, allowing them to share their passion for tennis. Since its creation, the club has expanded significantly, thus we have increased the number of activities in order to cater to everyone’s needs. Each year, our club size is ap
proximately between the range of 200 - 300, generally on the higher end. Although only active members are entitled to weekly rallying sessions, the events and activities that the club organizes are often open to everyone. We organize tennis lessons for beginners and intermediates held throughout the week, which are conducted by qualified coaches at an affordable rate. Members get to interact during rallying sessions, it helps them to improve their game and broaden their social circle simultaneously. Furthermore, we have free coaching lesson, comprising 2 one-hour sessions during rallying sessions themselves for all beginners. Rally sessions are conducted every Tuesday evenings at SRC Tennis Courts, from 6pm to 9 45pm. This includes two tennis tournaments held in each semester, a tennis camp during recess weeks, a tennis clinic, overseas trips live-matches screening, cohesion to WTA Finals and to experience playing on clay/grass court surfaces. The highlight among those events, however, are the major two tournaments, namely NTU Open Tennis Championship Tournament and NTU Rising Star Tennis Championship Tournament. These tournaments allow tennis players from all levels of tennis experience to compete with one another without having to be part of the school Sunig Team. The first is mainly for intermediate to advanced players to compete while the latter tournament is mainly for beginner to intermediate players to compete. Regardless of what NTU Tennis Club does, one thing is certain, we organize every activity with the burning passion for tennis and the desire to bond all the tennis enthusiasts in NTU and NIE. What we hope to achieve is for people to come to know about the sport and to develop a desire to step up their game to be better individuals, both in character and in tennis skills, and to connect with fellow passionate mates.
