Sometimes its just not knowing how to start, what to do, how to do it. Weight training can be dangerous and counter productive if you do not have the experience or guidance. We all started from a point where it was monkey see monkey do, or reading from a magazine, watching a youtube video in order to perform an exercise.
But what does this exercise do for you? Does this exercise alone make you stronger? Bigger? Lose fat? How does it work? How do you do it safely? How many reps? How many sets? How long will it take to see results? The countless questions happen. Often we begin with cookie cutter advice or the guy who looks buff in the gym tells you what works best. But what would truly work for you? Help you with what you want to achieve?
There are just too many questions for a new comer to answer. Even those at the intermediate or advanced level struggle to answer that, and many learnt it from someone who wasn't qualified or trained sufficiently to answer. And on top of everything else, there is a training methodology called periodization, where it address training volume, intensity, diet and recover.
There are so many types of training, even the way you recover is a type of training/effort. But there are just too many different concepts, opinions and "broscience" out there to really know what would really be good, what might work, and whether is it safe.
Most people want the cheapest, quickest method with the most results. But often you get what you pay for, you get someone claiming to know the best way, quickest way, cheapest way. It's like taking a bicycle with no brakes or gears and claiming its the best vehicle to get you from point A to point B, it might be capable of taking you there, but will you survive the trip or even complete it? Or even worse, end up far worse than before your journey.
A proper individualized training program requires years of experience, study and understanding. To believe that it can be done in a few days, let alone a few months would be a dangerous path of taking that bicycle up the steepest hill with tons of obstacles in the path; with perilous dangers and even the chance of falling or sliding backwards.
To everyone seeking to change their lives, be it through diet or training or a complete conditioning program, do take the time to choose a qualified and experienced professional, and consider what is the real value of your body, as it is something you have to live with the rest of your life, treat it well, and get the guidance that would take you through that journey form point A to point B.
