At Empower: Defensive Solutions, we believe self-defense is an essential skill, something often overlooked by people (especially Singaporeans) because of a “it won’t ever happen to me” mentality. As the name implies, EDS aims to empower individuals with the technical knowledge and practical know-how to self-defense, so that they won't be caught unprepared and off-guard when confronted with a hosti

le situation. With self-defense as the basis, our instructors adapt techniques from various martial arts disciplines into our practice to provide a more holistic learning experience, providing a safe and friendly environment to put learning into practice. We are a group of self-defense, combat sports and fitness enthusiasts, dedicated to building a like-minded community of practitioners. Whether you are curious about martial arts as a sport, or looking for a challenging way to keep fit, EDS provides a friendly and safe environment to learn and practice with a bunch of friends. The spirit of camaraderie is at the heart of EDS, and we are happy to build more than just a fight gym. We welcome and invite you to come and find out more.

1. The biggest highlights of my time in Eds would be wrestling nationals 2021 and afs 1. Both were ithe first instances of my performing well in a competition and were instances where the years of hard work payed off. Wrestling nationals was a really tough day and I had to dig deep and keep going even when I didn’t want to. I would say that is a day where I had profound personal growth.

2. The most important lesson I learned in the fight team is to gain enjoyment in hard work and to embrace and channel aggression. The values of accountability and resilience were quite literally hammered into me during my time in the team and adopting these values has allowed me to find success in all of my pursuits.

The self discipline mental strength and fortitude gained through training with the team has made me grow and mature profoundly over the last 3 years, essentially making me a different person from the first time I walked into the gym and I can definitely say that martial arts has and will continue to change my life and keep me on the straight and narrow.
