It's not long before we bid farewell to our beautiful paddling spot, where sunrises, sunsets and special moments were shared. But it’s never just about the place—it’s the incredible people who turn these moments into lifelong memories. 🌴Many thanks to our friends Aloha Sea Sports Centre for all the support and buckets of beers over the years.

If you're in town, join us this weekend for a farewell paddle. Whãnau welcome on Saturday 14/02 from 4pm.

While we bid farewell to this chapter, we’re excited for the adventures ahead and the bonds we’ll continue to build.

As we look back on 2025, we are reminded of the whakataukī:
“He waka eke noa” – We are all in this canoe together.
​From mornings at East Coast to the grit shown in every race, this year wasn't just about the distance we paddled, but the community we built. To our paddlers, our supporters, and our whānau who keep the spirit of KWA alive wherever you are—thank you.

Whanau Day! Boats are ready to go. But first….looking after the environment

After months of early mornings, it's done. Silver Medal for our Mixed Unlimited Crew. We couldn't be prouder of this team, and always grateful for the support of whãnau across the world for the support and encouragement. Many thanks to Mike Matthews for the coaching and solid 38km in the waka, as well as to our captains, support crew and committee for arranging the logistics for us. A special thanks to our club members who were flexible in their own training schedules to provide the race crew a chance to train together. A big shout out to Around The Island Race - Rowing and Paddle Sports for once again hosting an amazing weekend for us.

COMPETITOR SPOTLIGHT!

Kiwi Waka Ama Singapore is an outrigger canoe club on Singapore’s East Coast founded by a group of New Zealanders in 2019.

This unique club celebrates the spirit of sport, culture, and community—welcoming everyone to paddle, learn waka ama, or explore kapa haka as part of their warm whanau (family).

KWA often performs at events, showcasing and sharing New Zealand's cultural heritage in Singapore - something that we had the absolute pleasure of witnessing last time they visited Hong Kong for ATIR!

We look forward to seeing them this year for ATIR Special Edition!
