Same choreography. Different music. 🎶

We first danced this choreo to 🎵 A Lo Loco T**i )

Our guest instructor thought, why not try it with a little pop? To "Rock Your Body" by

The music changes, but the movement is still there — same footwork, body movement & musicality.

And that's one of the fun things about learning to really move your body. MAYBE you don't always have to dance to Salsa/Timba music to enjoy the movement. 😉

So… do you think the Salsa choreo still fits a pop song?

PS: A Demo purely for fun & joy

Salsa isn't just about what you do.
It's also about how you do it.

Learning more steps and patterns is great, but that alone doesn't necessarily make your dancing look or feel better.
Your footwork, body movement, arms, hips, weight transfer and musicality all play a part in how you express yourself.

And the more comfortable you become moving your own body, the easier it becomes to bring that movement into your partnerwork too!

Don't just learn more moves. Learn to move 🔥

Great lead & follow isn't about pulling or pushing — it's about grounded movement.

It’s easy to think that a strong lead means using more force. Pull/push harder, move your partner where you want them to go.

But that’s NOT connection.

A good lead starts from a stable, grounded body. Your movement comes from the floor, through your body, and into the connection — *not just from your arms*

And the same goes for following.

When you’re grounded and stable, you can receive the lead, interpret it and respond without being pulled around or losing your balance. It creates a connection that feels clear, comfortable and effortless for both partners.

It's about two people being grounded enough to move together. 💃🕺

Afro-Cuban movement is one of the foundations of Salsa. In this workshop, we combine Salsa footwork with Afro-Cuban influences, including Rumba and the Orishas. It's about understanding where the movement comes from, and how it can transform the way you dance Salsa. Whether you're new to Afro-Cuban movement or have explored it before, this workshop will give you tools you can bring straight into your Salsa dancing.

You'll learn:
✨ Move with more intention instead of just memorising steps.
✨ Develop better body coordination and isolation.
✨ Improve your balance, rhythm and body awareness
✨ Add more texture, flavour and SABOR to your dancing.

When you’re fluent in both Lead & Follow… sometimes even your body gets confused. 😂💃🕺

One of the things we encourage in our Salsa classes is learning both Lead and Follow.

Because when you understand both roles, you start to feel the dance differently.

You know what it feels like to initiate a movement, AND how to receive it. But sometimes…

“Wait… which role am I doing?” 🤣

That's also the beauty of it. Learning both roles doesn't just make you more versatile. It gives you a better understanding & empathy.

You become more sensitive to connection.
You understand what makes a movement clear — or unclear. And ultimately, you become a better social dancer.

So if you occasionally confuse your Lead and Follow…

Congratulations. Your body is bilingual. 😂
