One of those moments when you say “cool” then your brain processes actually what was said and you turn around and fall on the floor laughing. Proudest teaching moment 🤣🤣🤣

Pilates isn’t just stretching and breathing…

Although yes — breath, alignment and nervous system regulation are foundational (and incredibly powerful)…

Pilates will also work you HARD. 🔥

Because true, lasting change doesn’t come from just going through the motions.
It comes from understanding how your body moves, why it compensates, and what it needs to feel strong, safe and supported again.

My approach combines:
• nervous system regulation
• effective breathing mechanics
• biomechanics & movement analysis
• retraining inefficient movement patterns
• progressive strength principles

So you’re not just exercising…
you’re learning how to use your body better in everything you do.

Strong body
Calm nervous system
Efficient movement
Confidence in your body again

Because the goal isn’t just to be good at Pilates…
it’s to feel capable, resilient and strong in LIFE.

(and sometimes… yes… you may end up lying on the floor afterwards 😅)

Back in the studio after Easter break — returning to the foundations.

The intrinsic foot muscles are small but incredibly important. They help create a stable, adaptable base for the nervous system to organise movement efficiently.

When the foot can appropriately load, sense and respond to the ground, we often see improvements in:
• balance
• gait mechanics
• pelvic stability
• shock absorption
• overall movement efficiency

Because the body works as an integrated system — and strong foundations allow everything else to function more easily.

And yes… the magic circle passed inspection from my smallest client today 🤍

I don’t know about you but as a busy mum and business owner who teaches movement for a living I feel I need to keep up with my own exercise routine (you know the whole practice what you preach!!) and I can feel very GUILTY if I don’t get my own exercise in. Well, mums it is important that we carve out time for ourselves and prioritise movement because our body was made to move and the health benefits are so many!

HOWEVER, I also see lots of mums who are literally killing themselves to fit in their ‘workouts’ when they are not sleeping, highly stressed and their systems are completely burnt out. Thinks another reminder that motherhood is demanding, emotionally, cognitively and PHYSICALLY! So don’t beat yourself up if your workout routine isn’t as ideal or far from ideal. My arms and shoulders were tired after that scrubbing!! Maybe more reason to keep loading them and working on stability and mobility but also a reminder that ‘exercise’ doesn’t always have to happen in a gym or studio.

It’s amazing how much joy dancing and singing can bring!

Who else used to come home from school and dance around to Spice Girls in their underwear?! 🩲 No? Ok maybe it was just me 🤣🤣

5 mins peace. That’s all a mama wants. That’s all her nervous system craves!

Peace from all the questions. Peace from all the touch. Peace from all the sounds, the arguments. Peace from the construction 🏗️ site from 8am-8pm (but you can still hear at 10pm) from Monday - Saturday each week!!

Motherhood and Singapore 🇸🇬 is one big sensory overload for me. So if you, like me have a sensitive nervous system or you are neurodivergent or you suffer from chronic pain and your system is already full from trying to deal with that then any little noise or trigger can set you over the edge!

When your nervous system is set in this ‘threat’ pattern it is very hard to break this threat-pain loop response. Exercise can be deemed a threat by your brain 🧠. So what once used to be your outlet for stress and used to help you lower cortisol and Norepinephrine levels in your body and increase endorphins now is not working! It’s not that your body and or brain is broken it’s just that the system has become over-sensitised. We need to teach the body that movement is safe. Movement is some of the best MEDICINE, and introduced gradually in a way that makes your body and brain feel safe your pain levels will start to subside. Life becomes a bit more manageable.

I started to develop headaches when I was 10 years-old. Almost 30 years later I now know that these are vestibular migraines. My body is a sensitive soul and instead of begrudging her and hating her for stopping me from wanting me to do what I want to do/from missing out on parties I’m learning to listen to her, to respect her. Because all along she’s been trying to tell me something.

So listen ladies. Listen to your gut. Listen to your instincts. Trust yourselves. Learn to have boundaries. Be ok with saying NO. It’s not just about exercise, or meditation, or nutrition or sleep it’s about how you handle yourself and the world around you. You have agency.

We met on a Friday the 13th… maybe that should have been my first warning! ⚠️

Many moons ago my husband and I actually met on a Friday the 13th — so we’ve always taken it as our lucky day!

Whenever the date comes around we try to celebrate with a little date night.

These days though, with three kids, a business, and life moving at full speed… our “date nights” look a little different.

Tonight’s romantic evening included:
🍻 one beer
🌮 a basket of tortilla chips
👦👦👦 three children who absolutely refused to respect the concept of “date night”

So now I’m starting to wonder…
maybe the universe really was trying to warn me that night 😂

But almost two decades later, three kids and many Friday-13ths on…

I think I’ll keep him ❤️

Happy Friday the 13th 🖤

We seem to have had a carousel of viruses 🦠 in our household ever since CNY. Last week my helper Jenny really wasn’t feeling very well. It meant that on Saturday after already having taught five hours at home that morning, I came downstairs to eat lunch and prepare to go and deliver my pre and postnatal workshop when I realised my kids had not been taken out all day and Jenny really was not well at all. I couldn’t cancel the workshop on such short notice so I had to quickly get the kids to pack their colouring books and pens, we shoved some snacks in their bags and that was if they were coming to a 90 min workshop with me! Thank goodness they were absolutely superstars! In fact they loved it so much they keep asking me when’s the next one?! 🤣

Monday Jenny was still recovering so little A was with me whilst I was teaching. He was also with me during my zoom calls and as I went to in-person meetings. He loved checking out studio spaces! He was so good I let him pick a spot for a treat afterwards and he didn’t hesitate for a second with his response… DONUT!! 🍩 I wasn’t even aware he’d ever had a donut before (thanks daddy 🤣) and I tried to convince him to get mini ones but oh no he was having a great big one!!

Little A has been part of the furniture of the home studio. I really can’t imagine how we are all going to cope when he starts school in August!! 😭 I’ll have to get us a fur baby 🐾. I hope nobody has allergies 😬😬😬

Congratulations to the brilliant for passing her exams with flying colours! How serendipitous that you happened to be in Singapore when you got your results 🎉

I feel so blessed that connected us years back and I got to introduce you to Pilates and watch you fall head over heels in love with it! I’ll never forget the moment, along with many other students too, when you turned round grabbed my arm, looked me deep in the eyes and said, “Emily I want to do this! How can I train to become a Pilates teacher?”

Thank you to the wonderful faculty for supporting Jaya on her journey!! Particularly to the educators and mentors that I know in Singapore: the teams and ! You continue to train and develop the next generation of teachers that will go out and make a difference in people’s lives.

To my dearest . You have a story. You have been through a journey. You have so much to offer. I cannot wait to see where your journey takes you but I look forward to taking YOUR courses in a few years time when you educate us on movement for breast cancer survivors.

Keep being so unapologetically authentically you!

And for those of you in Dubai looking for a Pilates teacher check out

P.s so happy that you and were able to connect too! Both of you are such kind humans! ❤️❤️❤️

For International Women’s Day 2026 I led a special 90-minute pre & postnatal workshop at the beautiful .mvmnt space on Beach Road.

We collectively decided to place the mats in a circle and create our own little women’s circle ⭕️

We did something we RARELY DO. We lifted our shirts, shared our tummies, and gave ourselves permission to LET GO…and girls didn’t that feel so good?? 🥰

In that moment we made ourselves vulnerable, but we also took a hard look at what real abdomens look 👀 like, no judging. That alone enabled us to breathe deeper and drop tension.

We talked about the deep core system, what the pelvic floor actually is (not just the muscles), breathing mechanics for a healthy core and pelvic floor, posture habits and the gripping patterns so many of us carry in the glutes, abs and pelvic floor. Because you can’t strengthen a muscle that is already under a lot of tension.

And honestly… this is what I love most about the work I do.

Women coming together, learning about their bodies, supporting each other and realising they are far more capable than they’ve been led to believe.

Happy International Women’s Day 💛

Thank you again to .mvmnt for inviting me into your beautiful space and community. If you live or work nearby I highly recommend checking them out.

My kids were absolutely OBSESSED with the aerial yoga hammocks!!! I think a mummy and kids class would be fun in this space. I could feel the beautiful energy in this space!
