When a global tech giant prioritizes workforce safety, they don’t look for traditional sports martial arts they look for real world efficiency. Today, I had the privilege of stepping into the Singapore Google Data Center to conduct our very first 'Active Assailant' Corporate Readiness Session.
With over 20 years of teaching Bruce Lee’s philosophy of Jeet Kune Do (JKD), my focus is entirely on one thing: Intercepting the threat before it controls you.
Here is the exact high stress framework we ran the team through:
⚡ 00-15 Mins: Mindset & Awareness
Before a physical fight starts, there are 'Pre-Attack Indicators.' We trained the team to read the room, spot the tells, and maintain critical tactical distance.
⚡ 15-45 Mins: Immediate Response
No flashy moves. Just simple, high percentage JKD techniques designed to neutralize an attacker’s initial movement instantly.
⚡ 45-75 Mins: Environmental Defense
In a modern workspace, anything can be a shield or a weapon. We weaponized common objects to create immediate 'exit windows' to escape to safety.
⚡ 75-120 Mins: The Stress Drill
Theory means nothing without adrenaline. We closed with a controlled, high pressure simulation to ensure these techniques work when the heart rate hits 180 BPM.
In a crisis, you don’t rise to the occasion you sink to the level of your training. Huge shoutout to the incredible team at Google for bringing their focus, energy, and commitment to corporate safety today.
