😂 7 Types of Students We Meet in Gymnastics 🤸♀️🤸♂️
Every gymnastics class has its own cast of characters… and somehow, we love every single one of them. 💜
1️⃣ The “Everywhere, Everything, All At Once” Kid
“Coach, can I do bars? Can I jump? Can I try handstand? Can I go trampoline?”
All within the same 10 seconds. 🚀
2️⃣ The “Never Give Up” Kid
One more try.
Then another.
Then another.
They will keep practising until that skill finally works — and even then, they probably want to do it better. 💪
3️⃣ The “Mosquito Slapper” Kid 🦟
Super eager. Super enthusiastic.
Following instructions? Maybe not quite. 😂
Coach says, “Straight body!”
Student somehow creates an entirely new gymnastics skill.
That’s when the trusty pool noodle comes out — a gentle little tap tap reminder to fix those shapes!
4️⃣ The “First In Line” Kid
Warm-up? First.
Bars? First.
Beam? First.
Water break? Somehow also first. 😆
5️⃣ The “Busybody” Kid 👀
“What is Coach doing?”
“Why is she doing that?”
“Who is going next?”
“What class is that?”
They may be training at one station… but mentally, they are monitoring the entire gym.
6️⃣ The “I Want Mommy” Kid 🥹
Every lesson begins with a little negotiation, a pep talk, and one final cuddle with mummy or daddy.
Then five minutes later… they’re running around the gym having the best time.
7️⃣ The “I Can Do It By Myself” Kid 😎
Confidence level: 100%.
“Coach, I don’t need help!”
Sometimes they absolutely nail it.
Sometimes… Coach was right. 😂
Either way, we love the confidence.
And the funny thing? One gymnast can somehow be all seven types in the same lesson. 🤣
Different personalities, different learning styles, different journeys — and that’s exactly what makes coaching gymnastics so much fun.
Which one is your child?
Or better yet… which one were YOU? 👀
Tag a gymnastics parent who will definitely recognise one of these! 😂
