Bedok Reservoir to Jurong lake ride 70km ride to watch our friends on a dragon boat race!

Sunny weather going to the lake and a rainy ride on the way back. In the end rewarded beautiful blooms all over Singapore!🌸

110km Lunar New Year Ride with @
2nd visit to the famous lamp post 1 since my birthday round-the-island ride last year.

When we all split up, I got lost on the last 10km.
I stopped somewhere to rest & reflect my road/(life) choices. 😅
Google maps and I don't actually mix well.

Anyway, after several self- soothing selfies and estimating if it's worth the risk to go up alone to the high incline on Bartley Road (skyway-ish part with fast cars), a nice couple on their bikes passed by & showed me an alternative inner road. It was still high incline but not much cars.

Immediately I clipped in my usualy left leg and.. fell! Luckily fell off the grass.

Dummy - I forgot it was a steep incline and I had zero momentum to roll and clip the other side🤣. So I had to back out a 100m or so to find flat area.
Finally I found familiar routes & got home.

Will not do that again without 🤣 Happy CNY!

A visit to a cyclist candy store:
After several rides learning to use cycling shoes I felt numbness on my right little toe/5th toe, usually a after long ride. I figured it's possibly due to the shoe fitting and my wide feet. That could have impinged the nerves or perhap pressure on the toe have disrupted the blood flow. I also used once a narrow pair of cycling rubber shoes and it caused numbness and hematoma on the left big toe.

Hence it will be good to invest on proper fitting shoes and mitigate risks of foot problems.
I looked for options for squarish wide feet cycling shoes and found BONT! Fortunately they have a shop in Singapore Cycling shoes! I got a chance also to fit the shoes properly.

Some shoes are made out of carbon, composite or fiber glass. I tried 3 options for the composite. All 3 are lovely and comfy and I finally chose one! Will see how it feels on the next ride!

I only got to clean several and still more to go on another day. I may have to stop buying more bikes🤣. Cleaning is a pain! But the bikes look happy and fresh!
