We love introducing pull buoys to our older kids. Once they have better control of their limbs and have grown a little more in length, these floats play a part in helping them refine and improve one’s strokes as kids learn to better position their body to be more streamlined. Furthermore, they help to build core strength.

Our hearts are broken watching this. An important reminder to always be vigilant and never take water safety for granted – no matter the age.

“A drowning person isn't always splashing and yelling. Drowning in real life is typically silent and quick and can occur in as little as 30 seconds.

A drowning child is usually unable to call for help, and will use their arms to try to push up on the water's surface. This might look like they are playing instead of struggling.”

He struggled for around a minute before sinking to the bottom of the pool.
