With regard to our recent case, while the outcome came as a surprise, and we are disappointed with the judgement, we will be carefully reviewing all options — including our right to appeal.
We’ve also had quite the crash course in local media — and learned that not everything published online tells the full story. Some articles seem to have let AI take the wheel… without a human fact-checking the story. For the record, no media contacted us to get our side of the case. We simply ask everyone to hold their judgment until they’ve heard the complete version.
For clarity, we’re certainly not the petty sort to sue anyone over a non-existent review, or to ask for the return of products we’ve generously given away. We've got far more meaningful things to do than chase someone over a single post - like designing new bike parts and cycling overseas to test them (with a little adventure along the way). And just to be clear, we were never involved in any argument;, we were simply caught in the cross-fire of two men.
Nobody sues over something trivial like a scrapped review - you'd have to be naive to believe that. Of course, it had to be something far more serious — such as property sabotage and false statements that clearly damages a company's reputation. While we may have lost the case on a technicality according to Court, that doesn’t make false statements by a blogger any truer.
As a small local team built on honesty, creativity, and hard work (plus the occasional over-caffeinated nights), we remain steadfast in our belief — and trust — that truth will ultimately prevail.
Makericks3D was built from the ground up in Singapore by a passionate local cyclist determined to reinvent everyday cycling experiences through thoughtful design and quality craftsmanship. Every product we make is tested by real cyclists on real roads — ourselves and members of the community (some of whom may be your friends or family).
