Is there a case for going big at the back as we enter the business end of the season?
– Out of the Top 10, there are 6 mids & 4 defenders
– Out of the 6 defenders in the Top 20, 3 are from MCI & LIV each
– Out of the 4 GKs, 1 is from MCI & LIV each (the other 2 from MUN & WOL)
– Forwards are having a season to forget (Antonio & Dennis at 19th & 20th resp.)
– 4 GKs take the 13th, 14th, 16th & 18th spots. The next 2 closest GKs are at 24th (Ramsdale) & 40th (Fabianski) spots
– Mids rule the bottom half of the Top 10
– GK + Defenders (FPL team's defensive unit) take 10 of the top 20 spots
– 8 mids' tally of 1068 pts fall short by 170 points of GK + Def
– There are 2 GKs - 7 Defs - 10 MFs - 1 Fwd who grab Top 21-40 spots
Questions pertaining from now till the end of season:
🔸Time to move away from 2 fwds to 1? 3-fwd anyways is far from an optimal strategy
🔸Salah being the perma figure in mid, will going big at the back be more rewarding than another 11m+ asset?
🔸Will it be value for money?
