What an incredible four-session journey at Xinghua Primary School!
When we first met the students, many were understandably tentative, unsure of themselves, and stepping onto a skateboard for the very first time. Fast forward four sessions, and the transformation was remarkable.
Over the course of the program, we watched students grow in confidence, develop resilience, and become increasingly comfortable challenging themselves. What began as cautious first pushes soon became determined attempts at new skills, with many students surprising themselves by landing tricks they had never even considered trying before.
The smiles, celebrations, and encouragement shared between classmates were a reminder that skateboarding is about so much more than learning tricks. It teaches perseverance, problem-solving, courage, and the confidence to keep trying after setbacks.
A huge thank you to Xinghua Primary School for embracing the values that skateboarding promotes — creativity, resilience, community, self-expression, and learning through experience. It was a privilege to be part of the students' journey and to witness their growth both on and off the skateboard.
We can't wait to see where their skateboarding adventures take them next!
