Yesterday (6 Sep), it was yet another exciting and training session at CANBERRA :)

What was especially wonderful was seeing the community continue to grow — old friends returning to the table, familiar faces catching up, and new friendships being forged through armwrestling.

That is what SGAW is about. Beyond the competition, the training and getting stronger, we are building a community where people of different ages, backgrounds and experience levels can come together, learn from one another and share a passion for the sport.

from 230pm to 6pm, our NEW Competition Tables await your presence :) With the SGAW National Championships taking place on 12/12, YOU can begin your 14-week journey of preparations.

The minimum age to learn how to armwrestle is 13 AND your Parent/Guardian needs to be present to sign an Indemnity Consent Form (Before You Can Armwrestle). This applies to ALL Teens aged 13-17. If you are already 18 and above, you will need your HP to scan a QR Code and Sign an Indemnity Form (before Armwrestling).

Anyone who is keen on trying out Armwrestling for the 1st time or to continue to refine your pulling technique/style, feel free to SIGN UP/RSVP Your Attendance via our Telegram Channel!

ALL Participants MUST bring their ICs along, in case, Proof of Age is required for checking by SGAW Staff on Duty.

Pls do SCAN the QR Code (see photos below) to JOIN the Singapore Armwrestling Telegram Channel. We will usually post a POLL with Date/Time updates of upcoming training sessions & anything related to SGAW events!

🥇 Singapore Armwrestling Referee Training & Refresher Course 2026

On 29 August 2026, the Singapore Armwrestling Referee Committee conducted a 2-hour referee training and refresher course at our partner club, Eastside Arm Wrestling, led by Referee Committee Chair, Greg Yeo.

The session brought together both existing and aspiring referees as part of preparations for the Singapore Armwrestling National Championship in December 2026, helping to ensure that our officials are well-prepared and consistent in applying the rules on competition day.

We were also honoured to have SGAW President Leonard Yip in attendance, alongside international arm wrestler Apollo Pamperl from Vienna Austria,. He shared his vast experience from refereeing at various European competitions and competing at the European Armwrestling Championships. 🇸🇬🇦🇹

A strong and knowledgeable officiating team is essential to the growth of our sport. And SGAW adopts a strict standard of the mental and physical aspects of our pool of qualified referees. THE PEOPLE OF SGAW. 🇸🇬💪

Different ages. Different backgrounds. Different levels of experience.

But when we come to the table, we become one community.

Our 2nd Official SGAW Practice at Canberra was another reminder that Singapore Armwrestling is about much more than winning a pull. It is about people showing up, learning from one another, testing themselves, sharing knowledge, making friendships and helping to grow the sport together.

From experienced pullers to those discovering armwrestling for the first time, every person at the table is part of the story we are building.

This is grassroots sport.

This is community.

These are the People of SGAW.

And we are only getting started. 🇸🇬🔥

YESTERDAY (23 Aug), marked a new chapter in the history of Singapore Armwrestling. 💪🇸🇬

It was SGAW's 1st Practice Session at CANBERRA — and what a way to begin at our 2nd training facility in the Lion City! ❤️

A fantastic turnout, great pulls and, most importantly, an incredible sense of camaraderie around the tables. This is what growing a sport is about: creating spaces where people can come together, learn from one another, compete, build friendships and strengthen a community.

Our heartfelt appreciation to the Canberra community, especially Canberra Zone 9 Residents’ Network, for believing in what we are building and for making this new home for armwrestling possible.

And a huge THANK YOU to our SGAW Ops Team, for putting everything together and ensuring our first session ran so smoothly.

From two new tables to a growing community of pullers, today was only the beginning.

Building the sport. Building the community. Building Singapore Armwrestling.
