An estimated 400-500 residents from Nee Soon Link, took part in last Saturday's "Urban Sports & Wellness Fest 2026," at the Community Square.

Organised by Nee Soon Link CSN, the 3-hour event saw several exciting activities including Powerlifting, Floorball, Chess, Muaythai, Zumba and our own SGAW Popup :) Supported and in attendance with some of our enthusiastic pullers, they managed to attract several members of the public, to also try their hand at armwrestling for the 1st time :)

VIP of the Festival was Nee Soon GRC MP Dr Syed Harun Alhabsyi. And he showcased his sporting nature by "pulling" against our senior athletes. All in all a truly fun-filled day and SGAW is proud to have been part of this unique festival. See you at the next one :) Photos Credit : Barnabas

Team SINGAPORE is already in Malaysia for the King of the Table Tournament Series with a star-studded lineup!

Leading the charge is Team Captain and Head of Eastside Arm Wrestling, GREG Yeo, the current Rank 2 welterweight in the Lion City, And he'll be competing at the East vs West SEA Qualifiers against the Malaysian welterweight champion, Helmi Hanapi!

Over in Sabah, the PRO division features current Singapore's top-ranked welterweight, ZHU Zhi Yu, alongside Asian Cup Silver Medalist, WAYNE Tay, both vying for the coveted title in the Men’s 85 KG class! Over in the 70 KG class, former junior national champion MARK Wong, will make his international debut. And in the Masters division. it's former national Masters champion, JOHN Chng, in the 85+KG class, while DAVID Liem makes his international debut in the 85 KG event.

The SGAW Exco extends its Best Wishes to our 6 Sensational Pullers in Sabah for this historic EvW qualification event. Do Your Best, Make Us Proud and Have Fun :)

THIS SATURDAY (20 June), come and join us at Nee Soon Link CC, for the "Urban Sports & Wellness Fest 2026 @ Northwest."

From 10am to 1pm at the Community Square (Blk 413, Yishun Ring Road), there'll be several sporting and fitness-themed activities lined up for you and your families to take part and have fun :)

SGAW will also have our Tables prepared for you to practice (for FREE). With the "Nationals 2026" most likely taking place in mid-September (TBC), YOU can begin your journey and preparations with a 4-month countdown!

As for this Saturday (10am to 1pm), the minimum age to learn how to armwrestle is 13 AND your Parent/Guardian needs to be present to sign an Indemnity Consent Form (Before You Can Armwrestle). This applies to ALL Teens aged 13-17. If you are already 18 and above, you will need your HP to scan a QR Code and Sign an Indemnity Form (before Armwrestling).

Anyone who is keen on trying out Armwrestling for the 1st time or to continue to refine your pulling technique/style, feel free to SIGN UP/RSVP Your Attendance via our Telegram Channel!

ALL Participants MUST bring their ICs along, in case, Proof of Age is required for checking by SGAW Staff on Duty.

KEY ANNOUNCEMENT!

To our Singapore Armwrestling family,

We would like to share an important update with our community.

Our athletes were placed on the suspension list (2024) of the World Armwrestling Federation (WAF), which meant that, without intervention, Singapore athletes would not have been able to compete internationally under the Singapore flag.

The new SGAW Exco stepped in on behalf of our athletes and community in July 2025. WE made the difficult decision to pay $1,500 to WAF to lift the suspension. It was to restore Singapore’s eligibility to participate in international competitions.

As a self-funded and volunteer-driven organisation with no government funding or institutional subsidies, this was not an easy decision. Every dollar raised by SGAW comes through the collective efforts of our volunteers, members, partners, sponsors, and supporters - whether in cash sponsorships, venue support, logistics, or services in kind. This payment was made because we believe Singapore athletes deserve the opportunity to compete proudly on the world stage.

At the same time, SGAW will also be implementing an official policy direction aligned with the standards and representation framework of the Major Games movement.

In line with the representation policies commonly practised at the SEA Games, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, Youth Olympic Games, and Olympic Games, only Singapore Citizens will be eligible to officially represent Singapore at major international armwrestling events moving forward. This direction will apply to competitions and events organised or sanctioned by both the World Armwrestling Federation (WAF) and the Asian Armwrestling Federation (AAF).

This SGAW directive will officially take effect from 8.30pm on 5 June 2026.

These decisions were not made lightly. They reflect SGAW’s continued commitment to strengthening the legitimacy, integrity, and long-term future of Singapore Armwrestling on the international stage.

We thank every member of our community for your passion, trust, sacrifice, and unwavering support. Together, we will continue building a strong, united, and respected armwrestling legacy for Singapore.

Singapore Armwrestling is incredibly proud to announce the official launch of the Singapore Armwrestling Referees Committee (SGAWRC)! 🦾

As our sport continues to grow rapidly, maintaining the absolute highest standards of fairness, safety, and professionalism on the table is our top priority. The establishment of this dedicated committee marks a massive step forward for the credibility and long-term development of armwrestling in Singapore.

Operating under the SGAW Executive Committee, the SGAWRC will assist in overseeing:

⚖️ Maintaining discipline & standards

The SGAWRC is committed to upholding the highest level of standards and integrity for the sport we all love.

Singapore Armwrestling has appointed Greg Yeo—a veteran of the Singaporean armwrestling scene—as Chairperson of the committee. Greg previously served as Tournament Director for the 2025 Singapore Armwrestling Open, and has been tasked with leading the charge in raising the standard of officiating in Singapore. Thank you for stepping up to guide the future of our sport! 🤝

Dear SGAW Community,

The official RESULTS of the recent SGAW YOUTH Championships 2026 AND the NEW National Rankings, have all been updated and posted by our Gen Sec, Jasper Chan.

It also appears that LIONEL Yeo's haul of 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze (in the Youths), has helped him TOP all 4 Ranking Lists :)
