A couple of weeks ago, Brits took on the Singapore Dragon Boat Festival 2026. 🐉🇬🇧
We entered the weekend with no expectations other than give everything we had
DAY 1
DB12 Premier Senior crew set the tone early , made direct finals
DB12 IDBC Open A won their heat and straight to the finals DB12 IDBC Open B fought through the repechage and finals
DB12 IDBC Ladies one of the toughest category won the heat and securing a place in the final.
Several paddlers and steers went back-to-back throughout the day, and anyone who’s raced a 500m knows that consecutive races are no small feat.
By the end of Day 1, we had qualified for all three finals and came away with medals in three categories.
DAY 2
Fresh day. Fresh mindset. Different boats.
The message within the team was clear: complacency would be our biggest enemy. DB22 IDBC Mixed crew won their heat and progressed directly to the final.
DB22 Premier Mixed crew paddled through the heats, repechage, and into the final.
The IDBC Mixed final was stacked with the strongest teams, and you could feel the hunger in every lane. After 16 years of the IDBC Cup’s existence, Brits finally brought it home with a brilliantly executed race and fierce competition from start to finish. That final charge will be one to remember . Many of us crossed the finish line without even realizing we had won.
This victory belongs to every paddler who trained relentlessly on and off the water, every supporter who stood behind us, the captains and coach who pushed hard and believed in this team.
