The Singapore National Youth Boxing Team is set to showcase its rising talent at the Penang Pesta International Boxing Tournament, scheduled to take place from January 4 to 8, 2026. This prestigious regional meet, held in the historic boxing hub of Penang, Malaysia, serves as a crucial platform for Singapore’s young pugilists to gain high-intensity international experience against seasoned opponents from Malaysia, Indonesia, and Chinese Taipei. Building on a strong legacy of podium finishes at this event, the 2026 squad aims to sharpen their technical skills and ring discipline. As the first major competition of the year, the tournament offers a vital litmus test for the team’s development as they eye further continental success in the upcoming Asian youth circuit.

As the year comes to a close, I am proud of how far Singapore Boxing Federation has come.

Over the past few years, we have strengthened our foundations, raised our standards, and re-established Singapore boxing’s presence both locally and internationally. More importantly, we have built belief. Belief in our athletes, our coaches, and in what Singapore boxing can become.

This progress belongs to everyone who has given their time, energy, and heart to the sport. Thank you to the athletes, coaches, management committee, officials, volunteers, partners, and supporters.

As we step into a new year, I wish the entire boxing community a healthy, successful, and fulfilling 2026. May we continue to move forward together, stronger and united.

Happy New Year! - Fairuz Mohamed, President, Singapore Boxing Federation
