Hello everyone! 👋

Sorry for the lack of English on the picture, but we have some exciting news! 🎉

There’s an annual event on Gotland called Outdoor Week 🏞️, where all kinds of sports and leisure associations from across the island gather to showcase just how much activity Gotland has to offer—as well as doing a lot of fun activities this day!

We at Hike Gotland 🥾 are honoured to be part of this event and will have our very own booth to introduce people to our lovely little group!

Because of this, we’d love for some students to join us and help represent Hike Gotland!
Of course, you’re also more than welcome to just walk around the event and see what other leisure activities and associations Gotland has to offer.

📍 The event will take place at Gotland Grönt Centrum, very close to the Lövsta bus stop 🚌

Here’s the plan: 📅
-Saturday, April 26th
-Meet at 11:25 at Visby bus station (Bus number 11)
- Bus leaves at 11:35 — arrive in Lövsta around 11:59
- Return to bus station at before 11:45 and the bus goes back to Visby around 14:50.

🥪 Food will be for sale around the event, but consider bringing some snacks and water—just in case!

🚨 Heads up: we might not hop on the bus to Lövsta at the same time, as the leaders will need to arrive earlier to prepare for the event.

Hello again everyone! I hope y'all have had a wonderful summer and are ready to start of a new semester! We at Hike Gotland sure are!
As a way to kick off this semester, we have an announcement! ✨

We have an exciting project coming in in collaboration with some local outdoor-associations on the island! (The hint about the project is in the picture).
If this is something you would be interested in, please register yourself on our forum in our bio! This will all take place on the 14th of september! More details will be put up in due time!

Hello again you lovely people! Time yet again for another hike!

This time we decided to go yet again for the fun (and interactive) route along the rail road of Gotland!

We originally wanted to start from hesselby station which is where we ended the hike last time. But because the busses here are so "great" with availability, we can't manage to do that. So we just take the same route again with hopefully a bit more sense of spring in the air 🌼🌞

Plan:
10/3 Sunday.
11:20 - Meet at Visby bustation.
11:34. Taking the bus to Roma klosterruin.
11:51 - Arrive in Roma Kloterruin. Prepare and start the hike.
12:00-14:00 - Hike to Hesselby Järnvägsstation.
14:38 - Going back to Visby via the public bus.
Details of the hike:
Total distance: 7 km
Duration: ~2 hours

OBS: Make sure to bring warm clothing, always good to have an extra piece of clothing in your backpacks.

Bring your own lunch or snacks, we will take breaks for everyone to sit down, eat and rest.

For those who have read our last post might know that we are deciding to also keep Gotland clean by bringing some empty bags and some gloves so that we can pick up trash along the way!
Should be noted that not every student has to get involved in this. You can simply just enjoy the hike, but would be fantastic to have as many people as possible on board!🚂

Hi friends! This Sunday, 28th of May, our last "official" event of the semester is taking place. We are planning on hiking a part of the West Coast trail (Klintkustleden) from Ireviken to Hallshuk. We will take the public bus from the central bus station in Visby to Ihre and will be picked up by a private bus from Hallshuk at the end of our hike.

Plan:
12:25 - Meet at Visby bus station
13:00 - Arrive in Ihre. Walk to the start of the trail (10-15 mins)
13:15-18:00 - Hike to Harudden (including lunch break on our way)
18:00 - 19:00 – Booked bus takes us back to Visby

Unfortunately we have to postpone our last big hike to the 28th of May. BUT for all those who still feel like walking this Sunday, 21st May, we will do a hike from the Lummelunda cave back to Visby. On our way back, we can stop at the Själsö bakery for some fika. The weather seems to be on our side with lovely 17-19 degrees predicted for Sunday, so don't forget sunscreen. ☀️

Plan:
12.25 - Meet at Visby bus station
12.46 - Arrival at Lummelunda cave
12.50-17.00 - Hike back to Visby (incl. stop at Själsö bakery)
