Goon Squad: The Interview

Who are you?
Paintball enthusiast enjoying every aspect of the game (except tournament play). Could spend a day on the field just tinkering on different markers for the fun of it. Love QCB play and flanking the other team.

How did you start playing paintball?
Got invited by a friend to join a company kick-off on a rental field in 2013. Liked it so much that I decided then and there that I would pick this up as a hobby.

How did you become a part of Goon Squad?
After keeping my eyes on the magfed scene for a few years, waiting for it to kick off I bought the conversion kit for my Tippmann Phenom and went to some MFOGames. Since I prefer paint conserving gamestyles I wanted to be more involved in magfed and get “the whole experience” with tactical teamplay. By that time Gothenburg had gotten it’s first magfed team and ofcourse I reached out to them.

What has been your favorite event?
Hellsgate. Because; magfed only; International players; and Stråssas upgraded field with containers!

That special event you always wanted to visit?
Paintballexplosion / Nuketown or any other American CQB field.

Best memory from the field?
There is usually at least one memorable situation in every game. But what comes to mind is that first game trying FSR rounds and getting those headshots you wouldn’t be able to make get with roundball.

Worst memory from the field?
Signing up for the ‘special forces’ battalion in a Vietnam game at Stråssa. We got dropped of by a vehicle far behind enemy lines and got sent into their general direction through a dense shrubbery-like forest that took forever to cross. That field is so big so there is plenty of ways to waste ones time in a scenario, unfortunately.

Not decided yet.

Goon Squad: The Interview
Max ”Maurice” Jacobsson

Who are you?
An enthustiatic magfed player who enjoys blowing off steam by shooting strangers with paint!

How did you start playing paintball?
I began working at a paintballpark and gradually started playing with the twins Oscar and Emanuel Matsson who I worked with.

How did you become a part of Goon Squad?
I had a group of friends who I regularly played with and they brought up the idea of forming the squad and I was onboard from the get-go!

What has been your favorite event?
My favorite event was when I joined Goon Squad up in Stråssa near Stockholm in Sweden where we stayed for a two day game!

That special event you always wanted to visit?
Would probably have to be to visit Euro Big Game some day in the near future!

Best memory from the field?
When the members of Goon Squad and a few of our friends held an entire floor of a tall building in Stråssa against probably 30+ opponents.

Worst memory from the field?
The shameful day when I had a stick go through my shoe and in to my foot, it eliminated me from playing paintball that day.

Next planned event to visit?
Unfortunately due to work I have no plans of going to any special events! I will probably stick to the local paintballfield for now.

Marker/markers of choice?
My new TMC that I bought from one of our members in Goon Squad! Works like a charm!

Roundball or FSR?
Roundball, FSR is fun but way to expensive for me to be using!

Goon Squad: The Interview

Who are you?
I’m a married father of three who runs my own company’s and LOVE paintball!! 😎

How did you start playing paintball?
A friend asked me to come with him and try and since then I’m hooked.

How did you become a part of Goon Squad?
I played a lot at paintballfabriken in Gothenburg where I met Emil among others and when I was at a game in Poland where I was an ambassador for I got an invitation to join the team.

What has been your favorite event?
Borne To Strike in Poland was the most fun event I’ve been to.
Hell’s Gate at Stråssa is absolutely the most fun magfed-game I’ve been to to this date.

That special event you always wanted to visit?
has always been an event I wanted to go to and 2019 I finally got there with my brothers in Goon Squad and the . If you haven’t been there, GO!!

Best memory from the field?
I don’t think I really have a best memory from the field, I pretty much love everything around the sport, events and comradery as so on.

Worst memory from the field?
Nah nothing that comes to mind...

Ironland in Stråssa

Goon Squad: The Interview
Oscar ”Diddy” Mattsson

Who are you?
I am an aggressive player and always like to keep pushing on and getting behind enemy lines.

How did you start playing paintball?
I started playing when my brother found out about paintball, and since he couldnt play alone, my father bought some markers so me and my brothers could play together.

How did you become a part of Goon Squad?
I was playing very much and met some awesome people, and after a while the idea of creating a team came up, in which the best team was created.

What has been your favorite event?
My favorite is Borne to Strike in Poland, many of us in the team played there and we had a wonderful time.

That special event you always wanted to visit?
Living legends in the states, always been a dream!

Best memory from the field?
There is so many but I hid under a rock when the enemy was right in front of me, then taking out 6-7 of them before getting shot myself.

Worst memory from the field?
When another player on the field got in an accident including an vehicle, I think the guy broke his back but was fully recovered.

Next planned event to visit?
I don't know actually, since the Corona pandemic and not having a real work schedule it's difficult planning, but probably a local one at least.

Marker/markers of choice?
Tippmann TMC, works all day long, easy to maintain, and simple, just keeps going!

Roundball or FSR?
I love FSR but think they are too expensive, so roundball is my choice, but would love to use FSR.
