Lately, I (Paulina Orbitowska-Fernandez) am holding the space for the youth workers, psychotherapists, psychologists, leaders. What I'm hearing is a huge concern about young people facing loneliness, emptiness, loss of hope, depression.
I believe there is a big longing for real, nurturing connections with oneself, others and nature.

Thanks to the European Union, together with Fundacja Mudita from, Elegast from Belgium, Asociacion Promesas from Spain and Stranded from Italy, we are co-creating tangible tools to support young people in growing resilience, emotional intelligence and eco-awareness. Our intention is to hold safe space for them to learn how to build strong relationships with themselves, with others, their communities, other beings.

We are combining 4 approaches: NVC, Nonviolent resistance and New Authority, Social Theatre and Eco-Mindfulness to make our work holistic.

9.82 years, 86,000 hours do a statistical person spend at work. If they work standard full time for 43 years.

Imagine this time spend on satisfying collaboration, learning and contribution. How do you feel?

Now, imagine this amount of days and hours spend in places where your needs do not matter, people compete with each other and your contributions are not valued. How do you feel now?

Our intention is to support leaders, teams and organizations to co-create an empathic and supportive cultures in which needs of all matter.

The last 5 days, our team member, Paulina Orbitowska-Fernandez, took part in a kick off meeting in Antwerpen of the project financed by the European Union, called Roots of Peace.

Paulina was invited by the Fundacja Mudita as a trainer of NVC that together with other 3 organizations from Belgium, Spain and Italy, will co-create innovative tools for the youth workers to support their emotional intelligence, mental health and community building skills.

This project will last for 2 years and hopefully will be a space for creative and meaningful work that will contribute to empathic connections with the self and with the world.

Thank you Fundacja Mudita and Sylwia Federico, its chairperson for this invitation. Together we create another way, Empathic Way :-)

"The world is full of nice, dead people. And depression is the price for being nice..." Marshall B. Rosenberg

This calaverita from the picture is made of sugar. It's deadly (literally) sweet.

It reminds me, Paulina, of the words of Marshall I quoted above.

Due to several of the needs such as belonging, safety, love, sometimes we can take on different "tragic" strategies. For example pleasing people, withdrawing from our needs and values. Doing so, yes there is a risk we can become "dead". Blocking the flow of life in us, disconnecting from our needs.

Thanks to NVC, we can unblock this flow, we can reclaim our aliveness.
