This video covers three principles. First is not retracting a forward hand after attacking but leaving it forward, using it as cover. Second is gaining an angle by stepping or shifting weight while moving behind the forward cover hand. Third is exchanging the forward hand after hitting with the hand that hit. Which will be our new cover.
To seal off an opponents possible area of attack is called FONG. Robbing (gaining) the angle is CHONG GOK. And stepping in behind your forward hand to gain distance is SEK WAI (eat the position).
