Double lunging is an essential practice for maintaining a horse’s physical and mental well-being, and I recommended to do it at least 1-2 times per week. It offers various benefits, from promoting relaxation and improving posture to strengthening muscles and aiding in rehabilitation. Double lunging can be done in different environments, such as the arena or out in the forest.

Each horse has unique areas to focus on, whether it’s improving coordination, tracking correctly, working through and relaxing the back or developing muscle strength. Depending on the horse’s training level, we can incorporate exercises like shoulder-in, leg yields, transitions and ground poles. By tailoring the sessions to the horse’s individual needs, double lunging helps improve overall movement, balance and wellbeing of the horse.

I assist horse owners who are new to double lunging or wish to enhance their skills. If you’d like to book a lesson or are interested in attending a double lunging course with both theory and practical demonstrations, feel free to contact me!

If your horse's hoof angles are incorrect, there's a significantly higher risk of injury. While I believe it's hard to quantify exactly how much higher, an improper hoof angle affects the entire body, leading to discomfort and misalignment.

As the saying goes, "No hoof, no horse." A horse with painful hooves simply cannot be supple or enjoyable to ride. The wrong hoof angle can cause pain, and no amount of massage, laser therapy, or craniosacral therapy will resolve the issue unless the angle is corrected first.

That said, combining hoof correction with manual therapies can be very beneficial. These therapies help relieve tension, support the healing process, and reduce the risk of further injury.

DID YOU KNOW…?

1. Long toes increase the risk of suspensory ligament injury by 3.5 times!🤯
2. Toe grabs increase the risk of suspensory ligament injury by almost 16 times!😳

Right before and after his very first craniosacral therapy session:

Before: He was holding a lot of tension throughout his body, particularly in his topline. At the start, he was also quite anxious, constantly trying to control the situation and struggling to relax.

After: He was visibly more relaxed, with a significant release of tension in his back, which improved his posture and lifted his frame. His mind was calmer too.

Since then, he’s had several more sessions, and the progress has been incredible. By our most recent session, his muscles were even more relaxed, and he was much more at ease, both physically and mentally.

I am so happy for this wonderful boy and so glad to be part of this beautiful transformation journey ❤️🥰

In addition to his bodywork, we’re also correcting his hooves, which has made a huge positive impact. He’s been given some well-deserved time off from riding to just enjoy life as a horse. 🐎 Every day, he heads out to the paddock with his friends 🐎🐎 and sometimes joins in on peaceful hacks through the forest. 🌳 His diet is also tailored to meet his specific needs.

Bodywork is just one piece of the puzzle 🧩. It’s important to see our horses as a whole and allow time for meaningful change. ❤️ True, long-lasting improvement comes with patience—looking at the bigger picture over the next 6 months or even a year. Change doesn’t happen overnight, but with care and consistency, we can set our horses up for lasting positive results.❤️

Craniosacral Therapy can help with various issues, including stress, trauma, and discomfort. However, its benefits extend well beyond these examples.

Craniosacral Therapy is not a quick fix. It’s a gentle, holistic approach that often requires multiple sessions to achieve lasting results. Healing and balance are gradual processes, and each horse’s response can vary. Patience and consistency are key to fully realizing the benefits of this therapy. ❤️

Craniosacral Therapy can help with:

* Muscle Tension
* Pain in the jaw, neck, back, pelvis etc
* Crooked / uneven
* Sacroiliac issues
* Lumbar issues
* Recovery from a fall / slip
* Headaches
* Discomfort after dental work
* TMJ disfunctions
* Behavioural issues ( spooky)
* Mood swings: easily stressed, depressed, unwilling
* Poor circulation
* Diffuse problems

A lovely horse right before and after his first craniosacral therapy session. Before the treatment, he was quite tense around his shoulders, but in the after photo, you can see a remarkable change as he has become more relaxed. In addition to the all physical changes, he also became more relaxed mentally. This is the first of many treatments, and I’m so humbled to be part of his journey. 💕🦄

It is so important to listen our horses and try to understand what they are telling us. I have seen similar cases and believe its more the norm than exception.
