Life is never perfect. At least not all the time 🤷♂️
Therefore having a perfect training schedule is almost impossible.
Sometimes things happen that we have little control over and that require our action and attention. Especially when being a dad (or mum) the disposal of your time becomes just a little different. Then it becomes harder to do the things that make us happy, the things we like (e.g. working out 🏋🏽♂️).
But this can only be temporary, because eventually things solve and then there is time again. Time to train 😉
Life is never just s**t all the time or great all the time. Tough/busy periods as well as good/easy ones come and go like waves. Since time is finite your training will follow this concept.
If you neglect doing the things that make you happy during a tough period you will break the wave and it will get harder to get back on it. To stay on it you need to practice and find some room for yourself, even during busy times.
It can be as small as taking a couple of conscious breaths and as big as taking a long run after a mentally exhausting day at the office. But it is important that you take your room.
My room needs to be filled with some physical activity. It just makes me feel good. Period. Not getting it makes me simply feel unfocused, more moody, more susceptible to physical pain, unstable and not at home in my own skin.
Yesterday my room was filled with a long walk with my family, 5 super sets of 20 KB swings + 20 pushups and a cold shower afterwards. The workout took me 10 minutes.
The barrier to do 10 minutes is low for me. But the effects on my well being are exponential.
What I am trying to say is that it doesn’t always have to be a full training session. Just grab the handle and swing that thing a couple of times, get your heart rate up and breathe little bit.
Take your room and fill it up!
… and it will be all be good 🌊🏄🏽♂️🤙
