FISHING KENGIS BRUK
Located on the Torne river, the Kengis Bruk beat offers classic salmon fly fishing waters through the summer from 1/6 to 31/8 on 2.5km of private water, with three zones and several pools to explore. The Kengis rapids are one of the largest on the Torne river, dropping 20 meters over a 600 meters run. Below the rapids is a classic holding pool for Salmon to rest in before tackling the challenge of the powerful river. Our riverside guest accommodation is located just 25m from the river and 200m from the first fishing zone with a historical renovated lodge. The lodge offers three big shared rooms, big livingroom and kitchen. It is a great base for weeks fishing at Kengis Bruk. The Torne river’s average weight for a fly caught salmon is 15 - 18lbs, while fish running into the 20-30 lbs class are caught each year and even 40llbs is possible. In 2015, local angler Kristian Strisman landed a monster fish of 43.7lbs.
