European Parliament Adopts Resolution in Advance of CITES Conference

For the first time in over a decade, the Parliament rejected calls for a ban on the importation of hunting trophies, recognizing the importance of sustainable and regulated hunting for biodiversity, local livelihoods, and conservation.

💬 “I applaud the positive decision by the European Parliament on the CITES resolution — a science-based approach to hunting to which we will continue to serve as a guide for ethical, traceable, and legal hunting that supports biodiversity and the restoration of natural habitats,” said Dr. Miguel Estade, President of the SCI Europe Committee.

After nine years, this milestone confirms that regulated hunting is part of the solution — not the problem.
