The spring raid, a prelude to the Stockholm Archipelago Raid in 3 months, took place this weekend in the best possible conditions. The base camp was the very remote and absolutely stunning island Huvudskär. After 2,5 days and 4 long legs the journey ended at Sandhamn where the Swedish Championship will be held in 2 weeks.
Congratulations to all sailors who participated, see you soon in Mariehamn, Åland.

As a new rule jib will not be allowed in the Stockholm Archipelago Raid taking place on the 9-12th of August. Instead paddling with 2 paddles at any time will be allowed during the races, making the notorious F18 raid even tougher.
”We got the idea from Patrick Demesmaeker who sailed very fast without a jib during the raid 2021. By implementing this change we want to give heavy teams weighting 170+ kg a competitive advantage for once”, says Race Manager Lars Linder who will this year compete himself and aims for a place on the podium.

This year an F18 (Akurra) is exhibited at the Stockholm boat fair. It has a premium spot just at the entrance and in the first day alone 6 qualified youth sailors signed up for a F18 Youth Test Drive on the 9th of May.
The sailors in the trapeze are equipped and ready for the Stockholm Archipelago Raid in August. Are you?
