First race of the 2026 European Trail Orienteering Championships in Poland 🇵🇱 takes place Friday.

Trail Orienteers from 21 nations are coming together this week in Szczecin, Poland for the high point of the 2026 international season, the European TrailO Championships (ETOC). 187 athletes in all will be competing for the medals.

After a nail-biting Sprint Relay in the streets of Genova, Switzerland 🇨🇭 took over the lead on fourth leg and won ahead of Sweden 🇸🇪 and Norway 🇳🇴.

Natalia Gemperle, Tino Polsini, Fabian Aebersold and Simona Aebersold delivered a fantastic team performance to claim the final gold medal of WOC 2026. A brilliant last leg by Simona sealed the victory for Switzerland!

Now we need to catch our breath (and maybe take a shower) and get ready for Saturday's Sprint Relay.
