Thank you for attending IMM 2019.
We had a small presentation in the Sparre hall with the following content:
Presentation of IMM 2021 wich will take place in Bremerhaven, Germany. We got to see a nice pp-presentation of the setup. This we look forward to. The Germans who presented it were a bit anxious that we might percieve the location as odd. Since it is in the North Sea. I heard no protest - rather the opposit. Thrilling! Maybe we can establish some bonds with multihull associations in UK and hope for more boats from Holland.
A Memorial Prize was awarded, it is a challenge prize.
(The "Helge Ingeberg Memorial Cup" was founded as a special prize
for participants of the IMM or others that have done an extra effort
for the Multihull sailors in North Europe.
The list of holders of the cup is long and honorable.
The winner of the Helge Ingeberg Memorial Cup holds it for two years,
and must return it to the next IMM.
The presidents (or representatives) from
the national-multihull-associations of Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Norway
forms the panel (jury) when it comes to selection of "winners" of the trophy. )
It was awarded to Hans Berghöfer, 85, from Germany with the justification: ”He never gives up”. There were other candidates, of course, but there will be other IMM.
Prize for ”Most interesting boat” went to Kent and Anja. Their boat has been rearranged, expanded, in peices and all the time new concepts.
Prize for ”Longest way to IMM” was awarded to Paul Hoffman who sailed the Baltic Circle. That is on the east side north to Finland, via Åland and then south. Maaaany miles.
The ”Youth Prize” was awarded to Eskil. A guy about twelve years old who does his own sailors handywork. He walked around, looked at the boats and showed interest in most things concerning IMM.
There were also a few ”after-prizes”. Among others to the crew from Holbeak who got a bottle of champagne beacuse of Sweden lacking good beer.
A bottle of champagne to a young couple building a trimaran.
The night went well on the restaurant Sjörök (Seamist). There were 50plus paricipants who got to enjoy a lovely three course dinner.
See you in IMM 2021 in Bremerhafen.
