What happens to a child's creativity, patience and ambition if they are not challenged enough and sometimes put outside their comfort zone?
When there is easier access to dopamine, such as through PokemonGo, will the child learn to enjoy the successes achieved through their efforts and practice?
Did the child learn critical life skills such as recognising their strengths and weaknesses, the importance of repetition, perseverance... NO! That's what an ever-growing number of children are not learning in their everyday lives. And this is also reflected in the world of work today.
The only problem is not just a lack of minutes spent on physical activity but also the quality of the movement.
Now that we have identified the problem, we must do something about it. We need a broader phenomenon that everyone can grasp, from teachers to parents to sports coaches. We need to restore children's joy in sports. We must teach kids to overcome themselves and make them learn the physical skills they need to enjoy a wide range of physical activities well into adulthood.
We must bring these skills into recess, PE lessons and leisure time. We must ensure that the children have the mental and physical capacity to participate in their chosen sport in the clubs. And make sure that the sport they choose is based on the child's passion.
These are the reasons why and I have developed the Geego App. Together we have taken up the challenge. Now it's time to put a bigger gear on. We have tested the Geego physical skills app with hundreds of children. The children are excited. Now we need adults to stand by them, motivate and cheer for them for trying and tell them why physical skills are essential and why it's worth trying! The solution is inexpensive. We need more courage to admit the facts and start acting on them. Together.
I hope you will join us for this amazing phenomenon!
