Our speech at :

I’m Sugar High, and I’m one of the very proud captains of Kalmar Union, a team with skaters from five countries.

I’m proud because we’ve done something that isn’t supposed to be easy: We’ve built a team across borders, languages, and nations.

We came together with a shared ambition: strengthen and regrow open-to-all derby in our part of the world – a world that too often tries to divide us, where nationalism once again grows stronger, and people are taught to fear each other.

We've created a community based on the belief that when people come together, understanding, connection and peace will grow!

We hope this initiative will show the way for other regions, that people could come together and play at World Cup, just as we have.

Like the old (Swedish) saying: “If there's room in the heart there's room for another butt.”
