Meet colorful creative and frequent Ass Savers collaborator Denis Carrier, a.k.a. . Take a look around the cycling world and you’re sure to see Denis’ handywork gracing the surface of bidons, bikes, and our own Win Wing fenders. We caught up with Denis to learn what moves him—both creatively and when on two wheels. Read our short interview below.
⚪️ Can you briefly introduce yourself?
My real name is Denis Carrier, I am almost 42 years old and I live in Grenoble, in the French Alps. I’m also known as a creative guy, in the cycling and outdoor field, under the name “l’ermitage” or Studiofolk for other commissions. During the day, I juggle various graphic projects, which could talk about outdoor, culture, music, editorial and other topics.
⚪️ When did your work as an illustrator first began to intersect with your passion for cycling? How have both interests grown together?
I was a graphic designer and an illustrator before considering myself a cyclist. I have always used my graphic skills for meeting and collaborating with people I am inspired by. When I began to ride bikes, I also begin to discover a culture and a lot of fun people and independent brands. So, I decided to show them my work. That was more than ten years ago, and I’m still here and always ready for new collaborations with brands I share values with.
