Recently, Paul de Groot and Loic Isliker explored and filmed in the mountains of Uzbekistan for a new Hidden Faces project. Instead of releasing regular episodes this year, the focus has shifted toward producing a full film that is expected to premiere this fall.
During the trip they started by skiing smaller terrain to safely adapt to the conditions, especially while avalanche danger remained high. As the project progressed, the goal has been to gradually work toward larger and more ambitious objectives.
Beyond the skiing, the journey has also revealed Uzbekistan’s emerging ski culture and its unique mountain landscapes. Along the way they uncovered the story of a remarkable individual, someone who has inspired generations within the ski world and continues to inspire others today.
The project aims to share both the adventure in the mountains and the story behind this inspiring figure, with the final film planned for release in the fall.
