The Man Who Never Stopped Dreaming
Many people believed that one day he would give up.
Not because they wanted him to.
But because that is how life works.
You grow older.
More reasonable.
You learn to be satisfied with what seems possible.
Yet something inside him refused.
Not loudly. Not stubbornly. It simply remained.
Year after year.
Like a light on the horizon.
Sometimes barely visible.
Sometimes bright enough to show the way.
For a long time, he believed it was about the dream.
About the place. About the life.
About the people he hoped to find one day.
But the older he became, the more he understood:
It was never the dream that held on to him.
It was the direction.
The direction north.
Toward the islands.
Toward the wind over the water.
Toward the quiet paths between forest and sea.
Toward a life that felt more like home than success.
And perhaps instinctive archery was much the same.
Many people believe the arrow must hit the target.
But after thousands of shots, he knew:
The arrow travels for only a moment.
A person travels for a lifetime.
And between the targets, we sometimes remember who we really are.
Not when we hit.
But when we become quiet enough to feel what we long for.
Perhaps the difference between giving up and arriving is simply this:
Some people eventually forget what their heart is calling them toward.
And others do not.
They keep walking.
Not faster than the rest. Not braver. But faithful.
Faithful to a direction they cannot explain.
And that still accompanies them throughout their lives.
Like a light on the horizon.
Above the skerries.
Above .
Between the islands.
