To everyone who has any interest in fitness. You don’t need to look or train a certain way just because this is what’s “trendy” now. Yoga, Pilates, hyrox, running, body building whatever it is. If it’s not for you, If it doesn’t serve your goals, DO NOT DO IT.
I’ve done almost no isolation exercises my entire life. No hundreds of sit-ups or crunches.
No steroids, peptides, or performance enhancing drugs. No keto, vegan, paleo, carnivore or any of that. I eat normally, based on what my body needs. I enjoy a good meal and dessert here and there.
I do frequent lab testing and try to keep my vitamins and minerals balanced.
I am not Superman. I get injured and have nagging pains all the time. I’ve never rested more than 2 consecutive days my entire adulthood unless I’m sick or injured. But I know that’s the price of what I do and I accept it.
I train with a purpose. I train like an athlete. I don’t train for general wellbeing and I don’t care that much about how I look. I train for performance. This is what drives me; to be better than I was yesterday.
I’m not saying this is the right way. It’s just my way, built over 20 years of training, learning, experimenting and adjusting. I enjoy the journey, I’m grateful for what my body allows me to do and I make the necessary changes when it tells me something isn’t working.
There’s no one-size-fits-all.
This is my career. My life. My identity. But it’s not yours. You have a different path in life and fitness is one component of your life not your identity.
Do what works for you. Find what you enjoy, what your body responds to and what you can sustain. No one way is better than the rest. Dont buy programs, subscriptions and diet plans that you don’t need. Make sure whatever you do is aligned with YOUR goals. Don’t blindly follow what someone else is doing. What works for him doesn’t necessarily work for you.
Much love 💙
