agrees rights with ELTA in Chinese Taipei

AFC and ELTA TV sign exclusive media rights deal for AFC’s major national team and club competitions in Chinese Taipei

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has today agreed that multi-media pioneer ELTA TV will be their new media partner in Chinese Taipei from 2021 to 2024.

ELTA’s exclusive deal includes the AFC’s major national team and club competitions, including but not limited to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Asian Qualifiers Final Round, the AFC Cup and AFC Champions League from the 2021 season, the AFC Asian Cup China 2023 and the AFC U23 Championship Finals in 2022 and 2024.

ELTA TV will provide extensive coverage of Chinese Taipei national team and club matches as well as neutral matches through MOD, the largest IPTV platform in Chinese Taipei.

Dato’ Windsor John, the AFC General Secretary, said: “We are delighted with this new partnership in Chinese Taipei, a market with a strong core football fanbase and a growing passion for Asia’s number one sport. We are sure that the millions of fans in Chinese Taipei will be excited by the new era of Asian football.

“Once again, this deal demonstrates the value of the AFC’s competitions and we thank ELTA TV for the confidence they have shown in the future of Asian football by entering into this agreement.”

Sally Chen, Chief Executive of ELTA TV, said: “ELTA provides multiple and exciting sports matches for Taiwanese audiences. We are dedicated to broadcasting football matches for decades, including FIFA World Cup, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, Copa America, and even J League in 2020.
