Slow down. Soften. Let go.
Join Cynthia every Monday evening for a deeply nourishing Yin Yoga practice designed to help you shift out of the pace of the week and into a quieter, more receptive state.
Unlike more dynamic styles of yoga, Yin works with stillness, time and surrender. Poses are generally held for several minutes, allowing the body to gradually soften and encouraging a different kind of relationship with sensation. From a physiological perspective, longer-held, passive postures place gentle stress on connective tissues such as fascia, tendons and ligaments, while the slower pace and mindful breathing can support the nervous system in moving towards a more restful, parasympathetic state.
But Yin is about more than the physical body.
Every week, Cynthia explores a different theme, weaving together yogic philosophy, mindfulness, seasonal energy, the subtle body and the realities of everyday life. One week might invite you to explore letting go; another might centre around compassion, boundaries, patience, change, gratitude or finding stillness amongst uncertainty.
The physical practice becomes a doorway into something deeper, an opportunity to pause, listen inwardly and notice what you might be carrying, holding onto or ready to release.
Expect long, supported holds, thoughtful sequencing, breathwork, moments of stillness and a little space for reflection.
Come as you are. Leave a little softer.
Every Monday evening with Cynthia.
