Some runs you barely make it 5 miles at a sub-10 m/m pace and you feel winded.
Other runs you CRUSH 26.2 miles @7:XX pace and you feel light, free and fast.
One run doesn’t define you for better or worse. As it is with faith. You don’t wake up one day permanently ‘good’. It’s a *daily* sacrifice. Every. Day.

Both require grit, endurance, perseverance.
Today we had perseverance on our side 👊🏻. When your endurance keeps getting interrupted...yet you still keep finding ways to move forward...that’s perseverance.
Hit snooze too many times this morning. Pouring rain. A wonder week for the baby. A toddler. A haphazard treadmill run (baby interruptions... belt skipping. Just gave up on that one.). Just a wonderful mix of interesting this morning. 🤯
We had a short break in the rain today so I literally rushed everyone out the door (after I changed two diapers...included one who pooped the minute I locked her in the car seat...) and said let’s GO!
3 interrupted miles on a raggity treadmill.
3 double stroller miles.
Done and done.
I’m SO thankful for the endorphins!!!

My legs wanted to run my old PR pace. MY BODY WAS LIKE NO. 😂I was bummed at first. Until I realized: Hey hey! I’m 50 seconds FASTER at 5 months postpartum this time than I was at 6 months postpartum with Ruby. And that’s racing solo. 🔥That’s alright I guess.

Also, it poured rain during my entire run. Until it was cool down time ... rude weather lol nice starting point!

🔥🔥The fun thing here ladies and gentleman is this: yeah virtual races aren’t near as much fun BUT they will begin to help you find your inner mental grit, you’ll be practicing race day routines, and you’ll be pushing yourself just a little harder than you normally would during a workout. This WILL ALL PAY OFF when ‘real’ races resume!!! Head up! Wings out! Let’s fly baby!!!

Fun fact Friday: I’ve actually never *trained* specifically to race a 5k. 🙊 After my first 5k (remember where I trained laps around our local Walmart lol) I dove into marathons and haven’t looked back since!! I LOVE the marathon! But, it is a beast of a race.
So I’m thrilled to be *officially* training for the 5k distance!!!
Only a week to go before our .run4prs 15 weeks to a faster 5k kicks off!!! ((Have you registered?! Free 7-day trial!! Run4PRs.co/faster))
Oh and for my athletes: don’t worry. I’ve successfully coached many athletes to 5k PRs lol I just have never liked training for one myself. Haha!!! I suppose this has been one good thing from the world shutting down and all races canceled. A chance to step back and try something NEW!!! If I can run a 19:21 5k while marathon training what can I do if I specifically learn to embrace the pain train??
And like mentioned in her interview on a fast 5k will give you a FASTER training schedule for the marathon!!! Life is a journey my friends. Take a deep breathe and just to run.
And thanks to .coach.victoria for telling me to run a progression today. It’s been SO long since I’ve felt that strong!

Right now we are offering a 15 weeks to a faster 5k program (including strength training at NO additional cost!!!).
There is no better time to begin a change in your body, mine and heart. A 5k isn’t just a 5k...there’s always been a reason I ran marathons...I wasn’t brave enough to really pursue the 5k pain train. My excuses stop now.

And y'all gotta remember...I was pregnant last year so it's been over a year since I've raced competitively!! And my last nonpregnant race was a DNF due to two months of "bronchitis" if that's what it really was lol lol 😭😅

And then possibly feel like an idiot this whole time. 😂 Didn’t realize the ‘s wheels popped off in one easy snap resulting in a way to fit the stroller in my trunk. Genius jess. 🤓 So could’ve been running this whole time.
SN: we can not run straight from our home because we live on a mountain and cars drive like wild horses in the middle of the road so we HAVE to drive to our bike path for safety.
