SEEOA had yesterday online meeting with IOF representatives Walther Rahbek Mortensen (Global Development Commission Europe) and Sondre Gullord, Secretary General of International Orienteering Federation. From SEEOA President of the South East European Orienteering Association Damir Gobec (Croatia), Vice president Natalia Deconescu (Romania), member of SEEOA Diana Bridger (Cyprus) and Secretary General of SEEOA Caner Kalin (Turkey) where present.
We have been discusing IOF needs to have insight and a formal relation to established regional/sub-regional organisations, understanding our regional objectives and processes and possible support when appropriate.
IOF Council has decided to establish Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) to be signed between the IOF and SEEOA. The South East European Orienteering Association (SEEOA) is one of the organisations which will sign this document.
We talked through a template for an MoU and about specific content for a MoU between IOF and SEEOA. This document will be a great step forward in our future work and establishing better conections with IOF, establishing new programs and development projects in our region.
