Nakayama Hakudo - One of the greatest modern swordsman many would say.

“As a youth I was taught Shinto Muso Ryu by Shihan, Uchida Ryogoro. It was because of this training that I came to understand the Ura or inner methodologies of Kendo. I learned the ins and outs of handling the jo, manipulation of the feet, body mechanics, and other (fundamentals). Even in my Kendo practice I was able (utilize and) cultivate these (Jo) techniques. Thanks to this (integrated) practice I learned a lot. (In the world of martial arts) there are no kata as thoroughly developed as Shinto Muso Ryu Jojutsu’s. I believe Shinto Muso Ryu jojutsu is a national treasure.”

Nišioka sensei o kiri otoši (Šindžuku džódókai, 2004)

--- Můžete vysvětlit koncept kiri otoši? Je tento koncept širší než technika proseknutí/ odstrčení útočícího meče? Je nějaký vztah mezi kiri otoši a aiuči?

Každý má své vlastní chápání a svou vlastní interpretaci kiri otoši. Domnívám se, že název této techniky je odvozen od jména techniky hiki otoši. Hiki otoši je jednou ze skrytých technik v Šintó musó rjú džó, a když jsem toto pochopil, cítil jsem, že kiri otoši je také "skrytá'' technika.

Aiuči je situace, kdy se oba soupeři zraní navzájem ve stejný okamžik. Kiri otoši připomíná aiuči, ale kiri otoši je nejlepší technika pro přežití. Toto mě naučilo Šintó musó rjú kendžucu. Jeho pochopení a aplikace vyžaduje mnoho duševního tréninku. Jediný způsob, jak se toto naučit, je kata geiko (procvičování kat).

Proto si myslím, že není žádná souvislost mezi kiri otoši a aiuči... naopak, měli byste tyto techniky vnímat jako pocházející ze zcela odlišných dimenzí.
