🏃‍♂️🌊 Good Practice from Romania #3 – The Black Sea Cross 🇷🇴♻️

As part of the GreenMascot project, our Romanian partners highlighted “The Black Sea Cross” as an excellent example of how sport can mobilize communities around environmental awareness and sustainable values.

This large-scale eco-sport initiative focused on:
✅ community mobilization through sport and environmental activities
✅ coordination between volunteers, local authorities, and educational institutions
✅ promoting active lifestyles connected to nature and the Black Sea coast
✅ raising public awareness through extensive media and digital outreach

The event successfully brought together more than 1,400 participants, demonstrating the strong impact that sport can have in uniting people around a common environmental cause.

Thanks to the active involvement of local communities and institutions, “The Black Sea Cross” achieved significant visibility across media and digital platforms, helping spread the message of sustainability far beyond the event itself.

Through initiatives like this, GreenMascot continues to inspire greener communities and encourage environmental responsibility through the power of sport. 💚🌍

🏃‍♀️🌊 Good Practice from Romania #2 – Cross Country on the Seashore 🇷🇴♻️

As part of the GreenMascot project, our Romanian partners presented an inspiring example of how sports events can successfully combine physical activity with environmental awareness.

The initiative “Cross Country on the Seashore” included:
✅ mapping a beach running route
✅ setting up hydration stations
✅ organizing a post-race awareness workshop
✅ promoting reusable containers instead of single-use plastics

The activity encouraged students and young participants to adopt a healthier lifestyle while learning more about sustainable event practices and environmental responsibility.

Through initiatives like this, GreenMascot continues to demonstrate how sport can become a powerful tool for behavioural change and greener communities. 💚🌍
