We joined RObotiqueFF robotics club in Politehnica University of Bucharest. After a short theoretical part, we had to decide a category to compete at. The first version of the robot, Dill Doe Alpha v2 was built during the night before the competition as Dill Aplha v1 burned in the evening, and took part at Robochallenge Bucharest in 2012. After local contest, Dill Doe Beta 1 was borned with a new
design and with a new strategy. This one took part at national phase of Robochallenge obtaining 5th place in 2012. Year 2013 was a good one for the team, new members joined the team, the funds of the team raised with some financial help from Carpathia Trans and Compass Real Estate. We decided to go for other competitions, too and two more robots are now part of our team: Dill Doe Line and Speedee, both line following robots. So, now the team has 7 members and 3 robots. The whole group went to Wien for the first international competition, RobotChallenge. Speedee obtained the best place, unfortunately only 16th place and the mini-sumo robot was completely destroyed. Robochallenge Bucharest 2013 was very soon after Vienna and we focused on the line following robots strategy and programming. We also tried to develop a new design for mini sumo, a Dill Doe Beta v2.5 using only the parts which we already had. This version was a failure because the dev board refused to work as expected. However, we helped a lot at making of Ragnar, one of our close friends. Anyway, our work was rewarded with 2nd place at Line Follower Enhanced, 6th place at Line Follower and a 4th place for our friend Ragnar. Coming Soon....Dill Doe v1.0
