❄️ Last Sunday we participated in Bucharest Rebels Winter Cup 2021, the traditional friendly tournament organized by the Rebels each winter.

🫂 It was heartwarming to see a lot of old friends on and off the field and it was great that we could make some new friendships around flag football.

🏆 This event brought us back to a happier place, before the pandemic, when flag football was on the rise through the Romanian American Football community and beyond.

✨ We left Rebels Winter Cup 2021 with 2 wins and 2 losses and we hit our main target of exiting the group stages in spite of the rust we’ve accumulated in the last 2 years.

We thank and congratulate all the teams that participated and especially the teams we played against for their good and fair play. Hopefully we’re gonna meet more often in 2022.

🏈 And last but not least, we voted for the Bucharest Others MVP for the Rebels Winter Cup 2021. This award went to #89 Marius Goleanu, one of the key players for Others since its inception.
🏈 🏈 Although most of the Others went into hibernation once the pandemic started, Marius couldn’t stay away from football during these 2 years and joined the Bucharest Titans tackle team, becoming an important player in the team’s 2021 CNFA campaign.
🏈 🏈 🏈 Marius is an example for the entire Others team in regards to his preparation and work ethic.
🏈 🏈 🏈 🏈 Marius, we are happy and grateful you’re part of the Others and wherever else you catch them passes, you’ll always have a home with this team.

We played some great games against some Bucharest Titans and some Bucharest Rebels

We manage to get our first full practice and kept as safe we could. It was a heartfelt reunion after many months of staying at home as much as possible.

🏈 Last year was a full year for us here, at Bucharest Others and we didn't have the energy to announce our teams' most valuable player from our last tournament from 2019, Rebels Winter Cup 2019.
🏈🏈 A month away from the tournament, we got our batteries recharged and with the first post from us in the year 2020, we would like to present the player that we've voted the most valuable for us, in the Rebels Winter Cup 2019: Dan C Buruiana
🏈🏈🏈 Dan managed some great catches in the games we've played in Rebels Winter Cup 2019 and he proved a valuable weapon for our QB in our wins in the group stage, wins that positioned us as the top seed going into the playoffs.
🏈🏈🏈🏈 Dan or "Buru" how we sometimes call him, is a guy that always has a smile in a time of need. He manages to see the best in people and in situations, even when the ods are dire, thus lifting the entire team.

As usual, we won some, we lost some but at the end of the Rebels Winter Cup 2019, the last tournament from the National Flag Football League, we managed to keep and win second place in the league, although it was our first time participating.
This accomplishment couldn't have been possible without the efforts of all our team members, big and small.
We apreciate and thank all our oponents and the League organisers for their hard work.

We won all our games today and managed to grab first place in our division and also first seed in the quarterfinals of the Rebels Winter Cup 2019, 7th edition. We also get to skip the wildcard round :D
Also, today we got to use our first set of alternate jerseys, thanks to our friends at the 2Performant affiliate network, marking our first sponsorship (and hopefully not our last).

🏈 Another tournament from Liga Națională de Flag Football came and went. Giurgiu Gladiators organized a wonderful event. We won 3 games, we lost 3 games and we ranked 5th out of 7 in the tournament, keeping our second place in the League.
🏈🏈 As in all other events, all our teammates gave it their best, but we agreed among us that Mihai Vulpie, our fearless quarterback and offensive coordinator, stood tallest among the Others so we voted him our team's MVP - Most Valuable Player at Danube Cup 2019.
🏈🏈🏈 Mihai is a natural-born leader who can rally the team at crucial moments and can instill precision-needed calm when the games are on the line.
🤜🤛 Mihai, we're grateful to have you as our QB and offensive coordinator. You make your Others teammates shine 😉

🏈 We're going to our 3rd tournament from Liga Națională de Flag Football this week-end.

🥉 In winning third place at Sentinels Open 2019, every Others player was fundamental, from our teammates who played some snaps to the ones that played almost every snap on offense and defense.
🏈 In spite of this, it wasn't hard to choose the Most Valuable Player from our team, in this tournament. We voted Sorin Bucur as MVP for his exceptional play on both offense and defense as he managed to catch multiple touchdowns, interceptions, pick-sixes and conversions.
🏈🏈 Last but not least, he caught the winning touchdown in the third-place playoff game with only seconds left on the clock.
🏈🏈🏈 Sorin is a funny and energetic guy who always brings the joy of play on the field, no matter if there's a practice or a game (and he helps with substantially lowering the age average of our team 😁).
🤜🤛 We are very proud to have Sorin as our teammate and we know he'll make an impact every time he puts on the flags and steps on the field.
