Constantly losing the same 5kg of fat?

You work hard to get it off for the summer, just to put that same 5kg back on again within a few weeks

Few heavy weekends and your back at square one

Coaching is more than just calorie numbers and training plans…

You can get them off Ai or an App

But actually be coached by someone who cares about you and coaches you as a person

Situations change, life happens and there is a lot more to it than just changing calorie targets

Getting message like these make me realise it more and more

Even a small video check-in or a zoom call instead of just plain numbers on a screen can make a huge difference

Don’t stop once the diets over…

Diet done usually means everything goes out the window

You work hard to lose the weight and get a bit leaner for summer

Then within 8 weeks, you put it all back on because you didn’t know what to do

Training drops off and socials pick up

And instead of having a plan to help maintain your shape, you let it all go to waste

5kg off just to put the same 5kg back on

No wonder you lose motivation and want to just give it jp

Forever feeling like your dieting, always having to drop back to low calories

And never actually enjoying eating more food without feeling guilty

Nearly there…

89kg down to 83.5 as of today

Considering the last few busy weeks I’m happy with this

Not as lean as I wanted to be and it’s been a lot harder than planned

But we’ve still moved forward and made some decent progress

Giving myself another 2 weeks post holiday - 15 of us, on a stag in a villa a fair few beers will be consumed

Then I’ll be maintaining until the back end of summer when things quiet down

These busy months

World Cup and normal summer socials there’s no need to sack things off completely

Get through it maintains my physique and enjoying the summer

Now worrying about being 100% perfect the whole time

Then I’ll be in a good position to crack in with a building phase for the back end of the year

Let’s get it

Always good to see some faces in-person and not just across a screen šŸ˜…

Also means I can see how hard they really train šŸ‘€

Love doing these days, getting like minded people together and chucking some weight about

Being able to give some form / coaching advice in an actual gym setting

And having a beer in the sun afterwards šŸ˜…šŸ‘Œ

To cut or to bulk?

The question you always end up asking yourself and the reason you always look the same

Because you can’t decide, you end up doing neither properly

Or for long enough

You feel fairly lean and want to build muscle, so you start eating more food for 6 weeks

Then you feel a bit bloated, soft and heavy, panic, and jump straight back into a diet

A few weeks later, you get fed up dieting and start eating more again

Repeat

Never dieting long enough to see a real difference, reveal proper muscle definition, a bicep vein, or some abs.

And never spending long enough in a surplus to build any meaningful muscle or strength

This is exactly where Jack was

Someone who was already fairly lean but had never committed to either phase for long enough

We spent 7 weeks dieting him down for his holiday.

5kg lost.

And finally revealed what was underneath.

Now he’s looking leaner, more defined, and somehow even bigger than when he started

Not because we did anything fancy

He simply stuck to the fat loss phase long enough to see the result

And now he’s in the perfect position to hold that physique, bring calories back up, and spend more time building muscle

If you’re not sure what you should do…

Do what Jack did first

Diet down and get properly lean

Then spend more time getting strong, building muscle, and actually enjoying the process.
